Behold my laziness. I have several such compilations lying around, some dating back to the mid 90's. It's funny that when buying these boxes you felt like at least 75% of the included stuff is trash and in retrospect it's those obscure games that make the stuff valuable since you can't get them anywhere now - it's especially true for the oldest compilations. This one is newer but it also includes quite a few good titles that don't have a digital release.

StingingVelvet: Sold all my boxed games last year. Haven't regretted it yet, I really think collecting is linked to depression. No one attack me for saying that, please.
I began thinking that about 4-years ago when I was 25, so I ditched... well, pretty much all of my collections (CD's, games, some movies) and archived their contents away on some large backup drives and began going to the gym. I still collect games and music and make regular backups, I just don't have a bunch of plastic/paper shit to be anal about. It was the beginning of a better me. :-)

TheJoe: We doing this again? Let's do this again. Boxes are awesome, yo.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/20494353/gogshots/DSCF1324.JPG One that is.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/20494353/gogshots/DSCF1325.JPG Two that aren't.

Very slowly trying to find big boxes. Alpha Centauri was a good find; charity shop for £2.50, has the tech tree poster inside! Monkey Island 2 was actually slightly disappointing because it's a European re-release and the disks don't work but hey. Boxes are boxes.
And as much as I love not having to worrying about the condition of my amassed junk, where to put it, who's messing with it, etc that's a fucking lovely collection.

KylieM: Kill! Kill! Kill! :D Kidding, ofc. :P

That wouldn't surprise me - YOUR NOT HAVING MY COLLECTION!!
I have mine in the loft. Out of sight, out of mind.... unless I want them. Then they are MINE
About 2 years ago I donated almost all of my Physical games to someone who appreciates them a lot more than I. Also all my Games consoles and their games prior to last gen. So, pretty much 30 years of gaming. Never regretted it.

However, there were a few things I just had to keep.

like, for example, Baulder's Gate + Tales of the Sword Coast in the original twin pack. Still Factory Sealed.

I also have Resident Evil on both PSOne and PC "collectors Edition" that came packaged with a VHS copy of the original movie. Both Still factory Sealed, but the seals are pretty perished over the years.

ANother one I have is a Factory Sealed original copy of Blade Runner.

Sorry but I don't have pics of thse at this time.

Possibly most "valuable" (last time I checked, anyway) is the two copies of ICO Collector's Edition I still have. These are most likely worthless now the games have had a reportedly fantastic HD treatment for PS3. Back in the day those were worth a mint. I was incredibly fortunate to bag 6 of them in a warehouse clearance for far less than they were going for at the time. I even managed to swap one for a PS2 Limited Edition Platinum Console. The box for the console was opened, but the conent had never been removed, and are all still sealed. It is still in that condition today. I also managed to swap another copy for a Limited Edition HALO XBOX, but I opened that. It is now my main XBOX console hooked up to my TV.

For the curious, THIS and THIS are what the content of the ICO Collector's Edition looks like. That is the copy I opened for myself. The disk has never been used as I had already bought and played the standard version of the game previously.

Sadly, this is all I have right now, I picked it up for $3 at a thrift shop :D. It's still in fantastic condition, apart from a crack in the front.

After rummaging through stuff at my folks' home, I found a box full of all this stuff. I had long thought that they had sold it all at a garage sale, so I'm thrilled to be able to have my favorite old games back.

Is that Warcraft 3 a book or some groovy box set special edition that I missed out on?

Thanks. It's nice but I'll stick with my Battle Chest. Thanks for the link just the same. :)

Slightly outdated, in that I got rid of Starcraft a long time ago, but here you go.

Edit: Also, the second picture is a broad look at my shelf.
