After a very intense week I feel kind of bad, psychologically speaking. I'm trying to find a way to express it more clearly, I think I lack a goal and the will to find one. That's not something new for me (I do see a doctor) but it's very intense today. I had something clear to do all week: Follow the sale, read and participate in the promo and later the tracking thread.

Now I'm looking at my games, the new acquisitions and the older one, and can't decide what to play.

In any case I figure that a lot of us have somewhat similar personality here so others might feel that way, this thread is to indicate that if you feel that way then you are not alone. That's why I often mention my asperger and anxiety disorder, it is so people with psychological issues don't feel alone.
You're not alone, trust me. I'm glad to say I slept very well last night though. I too am looking at my games list, and don't know what to play either.

Maybe as a community, in groups we can start playing games in sync, and exchange notes or something about our game-play experiences? Maybe that would help.

Here, talk to this guy. He seems to be handling it just fine! :P

This insomnia sale wasn't as intense as the last one at least for me. This time around there weren't so many titles that attracted me so I didn't follow it as fanatically as the previous one. Last time I was so used to checking constantly if one of my games will be next that after it ended I didn't know what to do for almost 2 days (and I have tons of fun stuff to do, both fun and obligations). After it I decided I should aim to clean as many games from the unplayed list as possible and this proved to be a very fun and challenging task (I have a decent list of unplayed games on GoG, and even larger ones on Steam and PS3). So, long story short - if you decide your goal should be one that is gamer-related you can try to actually start playing your games. Just don't forget there are lots of other activities that can bring even more fun :)

Damn, that would be super fun! (without forced useless competitions)
Unfortunately I couldn't partecipate for a while due to various things, but you should really do it! (also, I'm a super-slow gamer)

And, yes, I have strange promo withdrawal symptoms too lol.
No game checking rush and less populated forums.
Luckly there's a final weekend promo to detoxify :P

Here's a strategy that works: choose the way of least resistance. I bought a dozen games in this sale and played the easiest one first (GOMO).

Not sure what I should diagnose your condition with, Post Insomnia Stress Syndrome maybe?
on second thought, acronym would sound weird: P.I.S.S.
Cheers OP. It's not an easy thing to bring up but life goes on regardless of what conditions people may have. Working through them together makes it easier than trying to find the solutions alone. :)

Bwahaha. So inappropriate. xP
My name is Micro and I'm an addicted to insomnia sales.

(Hi Micro!)

I'm very depressed because the sale didn't include Jack Keane 2, and because I had no time to grab a copy of Tiny and Big. The only free game I got was Pid (that's true) so I have to cope with the small happiness of a $0.99 gift.

Thank you all for your support.
I bought Riven and Uru in this promo, and Myst Masterpiece in a previous promo. I've never played Myst, I think I'll play it now, if I like it the next two games on my to play list will choose themselves.
On Saturdays I volunteer at a neighborhood mission, so I watched the end of the sale and went to work.
I came home feeling grateful that I have a computer, games to play on it, and wonderful friends like those on these forums to discuss them with.
Yeah, I miss the sale, but knowing that there will be a next one just gives me something else to look forward to in the future.
Now to those games. ;)

Peace
You'll probably hate me for propagating such a homespun remedy, but seriously, I think many of you are just exhausted and tired. See if two or three nights of good, sound sleep rekindle your energies. If not, then there's still enough time to worry about much bigger things (like depression).
I just finished Valdis Story. Highly recommend the game (even if it's frustrating as hell for someone who's reflexes are clearly not what they used to be (me)).

I finished Hammerwatch and Consortium earlier this week, bother highly recommended, though Consortium needs serious PC chops if you want to try out all the alternate paths.

Edit: Myst is a good choice for occupying time. Those puzzles will devour any kind of depressive, aimless thoughts. Maybe?

There will be no hating anyone in my thread. It's well known that a rested brain work better than a tired one. By the way, I love your avatar.

There is definitely a component of the "coming off a high" syndrome, even if in this case the high was brain chemistry. That is the most addictive chemistry of all. And the sale certainly gave purpose and tasks to many of us, easing various conditions (though I don't doubt it exacerbated those of others). My OCD had something to latch onto for a week, as did my almost pathological altruism. It can be difficult coping with the lacuna that comes after. But more regularly paced life will resume and you will find yourself settle into the normative state.

I find it useful to have projects going, whether artistic or programming. Having things to be done, and which are rewarding in their own right, soothes the beasts of my lower nature.
