Here's a very extensive list, culled from MobyGames, of the 5 publishers mentioned in today's GOG.com CDP Days keynote presentation, to hopefully try to narrow down which publishers might be the next Big Publisher on GOG.com.

Take Two Interactive by itself (not including 2K Games or Rockstar) only have a conservative estimate of 16+ games that were on PC or got ported to the PC, and even THAT is a slight stretch:
* Battlecruiser 3000AD
* Star Crusader (and bonus mission pack)
* GTA series
* Hidden & Dangerous
* Hidden & Dangerous 2
* Max Payne & Max Payne 2
* Myth II: Soulblighter
* Myth III: The Wolf Age
* Nocturne
* Railroad Tycoon II
* Rune
* Sheep
* Sid Meier’s Civilization IV & Colonization Expansion
* Sid Meier’s Pirates!
* Rogue Spear
* X-Com: UFO Defense

The next one we can eliminate as the 25-game mystery publisher is actually Square Enix/Eidos, because they only have 33+ games, most of them including either the words Lara, Croft, Tomb, Raider, or a combination of the four words:

* Final Fantasy XI & XIV Online (Collector’s Editions if possible)
* The Last Remnant
* Anachronox
* Backyard Wrestling 1 & 2
* Batman: Arkham Asylum (preferably GOTY Edition)
* Championship Manager series (too many to number here)
* Commandos series
* Crash ‘N’ Burn
* Deus Ex
* Deus Ex Invisible War
* Fear Effect 1 & 2
* Fighting Force 1 & 2
* Final Fantasy VII
* Final Fantasy VIII
* Gangsters: Organized Crime
* Gex 3
* Hitman series
* Daikatana
* Kane & Lynch series
* Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary
* Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend
* Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness
* Legacy of Kain: Defiance
* Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2
* Tomb Raider series other than what was mentioned above
* Myth: The Fallen Lords (may be in the hands of Bungie, dunno)
* Omikron: The Nomad Soul
* Project IGI: I’m Going In
* Thief series

While Microsoft/Microsoft Game Studios is a contender for the 25-game Mystery Publisher with 38+ games, the likelihood of all these games coming onto the GOG.com service is pretty slim:
* Chip’s Challenge
* Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus games
* Age of Empires (Gold/Collector’s preferably)
* Age of Empires II (Gold edition preferably)
* Allegiance
* Asheron’s Call
* Battle Arena Toshinden 2 (not a snowball’s chance, but whatever)
* Close Combat Trilogy (good idea)
* Crimson Skies
* Dungeon Siege
* Gex
* The Links golf games + all course libraries
* MechCommander 2
* MechWarrior 4 (preferably game + expansions)
* Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 1, 2, & 3
* Microsoft Flight Simulator 199x/200x/X (too many of those games to number here)
* Midtown Madness 1 & 2
* Monster Truck Madness 1 & 2
* Motocross Madness 1 & 2
* Racing Madness 1 & 2
* StarLancer
* Halo: Combat Evolved
* Halo 2
* Hexic
* Impossible Creatures
* Microsoft Train Simulator
* Rise of Nations (Gold preferably)
* Shadowrun
* Viva Piñata
* Zoo Tycoon series

Now, between the final two, Electronic Arts has the best possible shot of being the 25-game mystery publisher, because I found 100+ that were on PC or got ported to the PC on MobyGames, and I barely even scratched the surface:
* The Bard’s Tale Trilogy
* Chuck Yeager’s Advanced Flight Trainer 1.0 & 2.0
* Chuck Yeager’s Air Combat
* Crusader: No Remorse
* Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf
* Earl Weaver Baseball
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: Advanced Tactical Fighters (NATO fighter too?)
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: AH-64D Longbow (plus any expansions?)
* Jordan vs. Bird: One-on-One
* Jungle Strike
* KKND: Krush, Kill ‘N’ Destroy
* Lakers vs. Celtics and the NBA Playoffs
* Legacy of the Ancients
* Lords of Conquest
* Magic Carpet 1 & 2 (plus expansions)
* The Need for Speed games (including the original)
* NHL 94, 95, 96, & 97
* Pacific Strike (plus the Speech pack)
* PGA European Tour
* PGA Tour 96
* PGA Tour Golf (plus the Tournament Course Disk)
* Populous 1 + 2 (plus expansions)
* Privateer 2: The Darkening (Special Edition, perhaps?)
* Seven Cities of Gold
* Skate or Die
* Ski or Die
* Strike Commander (possibly the CD-ROM here too?)
* Syndicate
* System Shock
* Theme Hospital
* Theme Park
* US Navy Fighters (Gold?)
* Ultima Collection
* Ultima VII part 2
* Ultima VIII: Pagan (Gold Edition + Speech Pack)
* Wasteland
* Wing Commander 1, 2, 3, 4, and Privateer (hopefully both floppy & CD-ROM editions where possible)
* Wolfpack

* SimPark
* SimTower: The Vertical Empire
* American McGee’s Alice
* Battlefield 1942
* Battlefield Vietnam
* Black & White 1, 2, and expansions
* The Command & Conquer and Red Alert series (far too many to number here)
* Dune 2000
* Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 (all editions, possibly?)
* Emperor: Battle for Dune
* FIFA titles (too many to number here)
* Freedom Force (3rd Reich is already on GOG, now let’s get the original)
* Harry Potter games
* Hellgate: London
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: 688I Hunter/Killer
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: F/A-18 Simulator
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: Fleet Command
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: Israeli Air Force
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: Longbow 2
* Jane’s Combat Simulations: Longbow Gold

* NHL games (too many to number here)
* Nuclear Strike
* The Operative: No One Lives Forever

* Road Rash
* Shogun: Total War (Warlord Edition if possible)
* Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri + Alien Crossfire Expansion
* Sid Meier’s Gettysburg!
* Sid Meier’s SimGolf

* SimCoaster
* SimCopter
* The Sims + Expansions
* The Sims 2 + Expansions
* SimSafari
* System Shock 2
* Tiger Woods PGA Tour series
* Ultima IX: Ascension
* Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom
* Wing Commander: Prophecy
* Wing Commander: The Kilrathi Saga

Now, the final major publisher of note is LucasArts, where someone said they couldn't think of more than say 15 games, but I actually found 58+ games (some of them are unlikely to come onto GOG though), so it is possible that LucasArts could also be the 25-game mystery publisher as well, though slightly less likely than EA is:
* Afterlife
* The Dig
* Full Throttle
* Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (both action and adventure games)
* Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (both action and adventure games)
* Loom
* Maniac Mansion
* Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
* The Secret of Monkey Island
* Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge
* Sam & Max Hit The Road
* Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (both floppy & CD-ROM)
* Star Wars: Dark Forces

* Indiana Jones and his Desktop Adventures
* Armed and Dangerous
* The Curse of Monkey Island
* Escape from Monkey Island
* Grim Fandango
* Indiana Jones Adventure Kit
* Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb
* Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine
* LEGO Star Wars 1, 2, & Complete Saga
* LEGO Indiana Jones 1 & 2
* Outlaws
* Secret Weapons Over Normandy
* Star Wars: Battlefront 1 & 2
* Star Wars: Empire at War
* Star Wars: Episode I: Racer
* Star Wars: Force Commander
* Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds
* Star Wars: Galaxies
* Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II (& Mysteries of the Sith expansion)
* Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy
* Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast
* Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2
* Star Wars: Monopoly
* Star Wars: Rebellion
* Star Wars: Republic Commando
* Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D
* Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
* Star Wars: Starfighter
* Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 & 2
* Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance
* Star Wars: X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter (+ expansions)
* Star Wars: Yoda Stories

Hopefully this rather extensive list will help SOMEONE who might not have known about some of these games (especially on the LucasArts side).

Damuna: Wall of text. Try using text formatting.

But good job, anyway.
I decided not to use formatting because I wasn't sure that it'd show up properly on the forum.

BJ
I have interpreted the vibrations in my sinuses and concluded that it's Lucasarts.

BJWanlund: Actually, we can eliminate Take Two Interactive from the mystery 25-game publisher list, because they only have a conservative estimate of 16+ games, and even THAT is a slight stretch:
Rockstar and 2K Games are both part of Take Two.

Bold, italic, and possibly all-caps headings (and combinations of those) can help spice up the text. Also "poor man's" list bullets (* in front of each line).

Good lists though.

Oh really? Thanks, didn't know that. Scratch what I said then.

Okay, lemme see what I can do in a few hours (got to handle something else before then).

I would be elated if it were any one of those except for take-two. And we know Microsoft wouldn't sign on with GoG because of GFWL. I HOPE it's EA.

I have nothing against any of them, I just want them ALL on here. And GFWL doesn't have any or all of the Microsoft games above. Midtown Madness is an especially maddening omission.

Yeah, no prob. If you go to Steam and look at Rockstar and 2K Games' catalogs you can find a lot of potential GOG releases. Anything from the original Grand Theft Auto through to Bioshock or something even more recent.

That said I still think 25 is pushing it for them. The 25 number really makes me think it is EA, as I am not sure even Square/Eidos has 25 classics ready for a first-round release.
Great work, BJ. Thanks for the list!

Does Take 2 still own the rights to Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller, Ripper and Black Dahlia?

If it is EA then doesn't that mean Bullfrog?

And if it is Bullfrog, then does that mean there is a God?

BULLFROG!
Bullfrog and Origin games are more than enough :D Who cares about anything else.
ok maybe Westwood too. :D
Of the named five, EA is definitely at the top of my wishlist as well. The Ultima series and Crusader games alone put them ahead of the other four for me, and once you add the Bullfrog games and the Wing Commander, System Shock, and Need For Speed series it just becomes this mind-boggling geek fest of a collection...

It would be HUGE if it turns out to be EA.

BJWanlund: ...PC-only games...
Confused, here. Does GOG avoid games having both PC and console releases? Also, many of the listed games are multi-platform (PC and various game consoles).

Also, don't be dissin' my girl Lara. :-P
Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take2 and SquareEnix

MicroSoft, Take2, and Eidos (SquareEnix) all had games on GameTap.

This to me says they're more willing to bandy about their older games for consumption.

HOWEVER, EA I'm sure would love the good press of releasing old classics DRM free and it would be a good way to get the first Alice game out there before the sequel hits.

Since I have no idea how SquareEnix will treat the Eidos properties I'm guessing Take2 is signed on with MS and EA on the cusp.
