That does suck, I still don't know where people got most of the potatoes from, he must've worked his arse off! Maybe they're randomly selecting people as the potatoes go down, sort of like "When your potato gets eaten it unlocks..." Probably not though.

Just watched the potato x count drop about 700 in a minute, which works out at about 9 hours left for it to reach 0. That'd be about 5:45am here in the UK. Guess something will happen at about that time but I'll be asleep!

Just monitored the potato countdown and it dropped around 670 per minute for the five minutes I monitored it. However, the page then auto-refreshed and the counter went up slightly. So, if we therefore assume it's dropping by 600 per minute then we are now looking at about 9.7 hours which is about 7:30am which would mean I'll be awake but won't be online as I'll be setting out to work. But in all likelihood it is faster than 600 per minute, so I expect the potato countdown to finish a little earlier than 7:30am.

EDIT 21:57: Done another check for four minutes, refreshing the page at the start and end to counter any upward adjustment on the counter. This time it was dropping at approximately 675 per minute, so the above estimate of 670 isn't actually too bad. At this time, then, it gives 8.4 hours to zero, making it 6:20am ish, just when I'm getting up.

All of this is rough anyway, and if game CPU completion affects the rate at which the potato countdown is moving then it may zero earlier than this. So, we'll estimate it at between 8 and 9 hours at the moment.

Just restarted Steam and my Portal 2 is now decrypting. I expect early access was granted depending on the number of potatoes you collected. The more, the earlier.

Game finally decrytped, failed installation twice, but third time was a charm. And just as I load it up, a get another translation request.

So my extent of Portal 2 for the today was seeing that TF2 item store has been copied and used in Portal 2. Valve it seems, really like selling their horse armor DLC for crazy prices and all the kids who complain about DLC, lap it up =/
