My previous posts with you contain facts. Most things being cultural = FACT. Culture is very important = FACT. It's not that hard, really. Save up some money and spend the next 10 to 15 years living all over the world, and maybe you'll understand. Maybe you'll understand why I'm always saying this is cultural, that is cultural.

Yes, he got Joe to change the subject once he saw he wouldn't get a straight answer, but all Joe wanted was to inform his viewers, and inform he did by showing how unprepared they were to answer any real question. On the other hand, what Nelson wanted was to convince people to buy his product, but he convinced neither Joe nor anyone watching the interview, therefore he lost.

This is interesting, I had watched the beginning part of the interview before but stopped after a couple of minutes. It was completely obvious to me that this 'Major Nelson' was answering without answering and didn't have anything interesting to say. At least in my case, him being 'smart' backfired. Even though I know little about the topic and nothing about him, I came away thinking he was an idiot in a very short time.

I think answering without answering is a victory for Major Nelson because answering without answering aka being a politician is what his boss wanted from him... So he gets to keep his job... IMAGINE if he really answered Joe's questions. I don't think Major Nelson would be popular with Microsoft after that...

Culture is important, yes I get that and I agree to a certain degree. But listen, I'm going to guess you're not a buddhist priest an african shaman or an eskimo. You're american. We speak the same language and have the same values more or less, yes there's some minor differences in every nation but damn. Why can everyone make themselves understood in here, and you're the only one that comes from a completely different culture that can't accept any objection. That's really the only thing I want to know I don't care about thinking less of you or having something to make fun of you. I just want to know why I can communicate with you on the same level.

So what if I'm an American? That doesn't mean my culture is 100% mainstream American culture. That doesn't mean we have the same values. People have the freedom to turn their back on the culture of their land and make their own or join another existing culture etc. And it's a good thing, I constantly point out that this or that is cultural because I'm trying to save everyone time. Why waste time, trying to convince someone of a different culture, their culture is wrong? That is like trying to convince someone their religion is wrong. Yeah, have fun wasting hours of your time for the prize of a death threat. Because arguing over something cultural or religion is a pointless waste of time that will reward you with enemies. Go to a country like Afghanistan and tell them, the way they treat their women is wrong. See what happens. I think you'd be much better off if you stay home and play PC games. But dialogue is the main reason to adopt a new culture, or even form a new one. If all you know is one culture you'll dismiss everything else as stupid and wrong, but through dialogue you can undestand where othe rpeople come from, why they think the way they think, and you migth even like their ideas and adopt them.

That's the reason why there's this dominant western culture thing, with the rise of the media and especially the internet people from different cultures echanges ideas and opinions en masse, while keeping some of their old identity they also imported from everyone else.

Without any sort of dialogue we'd be still living in our caves wondering why other monkeys do retarded shit like planting seeds.


And still I ask you, how different really is your culture from everyone else's? Just by speaking a certain language you already have certain values that make you similar and understood by everyone that speaks that lagnuage, so you can't be so different that you cannot accept certain opinions.

Yeah dialogue is good but most people have a love of their culture and religion and will not give it up. And most people do dismiss other cultures and religions as stupid and wrong. If a man tells the average Western person, "Hey, I beat my wife everyday because of my culture". The average Western person will think this man's culture is stupid and wrong. How many Western people you know will adapt to it? People will only adapt to others if it doesn't go against their culture or out of fear because not adapting = death or homelessness etc. Look at all the crazy shit happening in the UK due to too many different cultures? UK is trying to get everyone to come together, hold hands and sing songs but life doesn't work that way. In life, everywhere there is strife. If you don't believe this, you refuse to believe in reality and one day, reality will kick down your door and introduce itself.

I never said their culture is not impressive. I'm sure every culture in this world, has something that can be seen as nice, respectable or impressive to those of other cultures. But along with those things that can be seen as nice, respectable or impressive, there will be things, seen as despicable, disgusting, inferior etc. And if people from one culture tell people from another culture, they way they do this is disgusting, then there will be a never ending arguing which will lead to anger and hatred and maybe war...
