First let me start off by saying I am completely aware of the fact that a good number of people on the forums here don't like DRM and since that may be the case, STEAM as well. However, some people also DO use STEAM and as these people may or may not be aware it is somewhat difficult to find Grid Images for GOG Games to use on STEAM. So I have the idea to start a project that will serve as a collective of grid images specifically and only for games on GOG for use with STEAM. I don't want to begin this project without hearing what the majority of people on the forums think about this idea so that is the idea behind this "Poll". For those of you that may not be aware, STEAM allows you to add Non-STEAM games to your "Library" but without grid images all they display are ugly icons and this makes your "Library" look pretty crappy. Finding grid images can be pretty difficult for a lot of the games on GOG to use on STEAM, that's why I decided to initiate this idea and possibly bring it to fruition. The "Goal" of this project, if it moves forward, will be to have a collective of grid images for STEAM consisting of only GOG games so that people will not have to scour the internet searching for them.

I created the poll Here so if you don't mind taking a minute to drop in and vote I would really appreciate it, whether good or bad. You may also provide feedback on this idea below, obviously.

Thanks for lending me your attention with this, I hope you will like my idea and support it!

It's not a bad idea, not sure how far you'll get with it, but good luck :)

I think we already had one such topic, or was it about Win8 images for the GOG Games?

Personally, I'd say if you were already going to be making some images, just post them here as well.

Let me see if I can dig up the thread.
I only use list view on Steam, and while I do believe nobody would be harmed by something like that happening, I'm going to be sincere and give you a no as you're probably more interested in people who would participate / help with creation.

@JMich Not sure, see if you can find that thread though. These images are a specific size however.

@FenixP I could actually do this myself, but help is also an option. Either way.

Ah, yes I have seen that thread. However, it isn't specifically for GOG games. My goal is actually quite a bit different.

Yes, the thread Namur linked is the one I found, though it wasn't the one I was thinking of. The one I was thinking about turns out to have beem a Win8 icon request, which only got a couple of items. So we either don't have such a thread (yet) or my google-fu failed me.

Hmm... Well, thanks for trying though I would have liked to have seen the thread actually.. oh well XD

I just want to help make finding STEAM GOG Grid's easier for people on here, that's all.. personally I don't see how this would affect anyone negatively at all.. but that's why I wanted feedback before I do this and spend time on it compiling/creating grids.

Ah, ok, i thought that there might be something in there to save you some work or to get you started at least.

No gamer should settle for crappy looking game icons, that's for sure, specially when it comes to GOG games icons ;)

Good luck with the project.

You had the right idea actually, I do plan on gathering already existing grids (only really high quality of course) and there might be some on that thread for sure. Thanks =)

Would you be so kind as to explain what "grid images" are, bearing in mind that some of us do not use Steam.

Look at the attachment. Now look at the right side, thos blank images. That's how it looks like when there's no image added to the game.

Grids are banners technically. They are like links that when clicked launch that specific game.

Edit: Thanks Fenixp you saved me there, was too lazy to take a SS myself but I was thinking about it. =D

For anyone wondering, according to the steam forums they have to be 460x215 for grid view. I'm going to give it a go at making some of these later for fun.
