I just want to let everyone know who owns the PQ 1+2+3+4, that the downloader has been updated and GOG has given us a treat with it to. The collection now includes the original PQ1 version (EGA), in addition to the VGA version. Download and have fun.

It does.. Well mostly I'm just starting third Police.
Nice, I wondered why the installer was updated.
Awesome, thanks for the update!

I didn't get a notification in the top nav bar, though. Have they been notifying for installer updates to v2.x.x?

sweet now all we need is the Vga Space Quest 1, the SCI version of KQ1 and the SVGA version of Larry 6

And yes I checked Space Quest 1-3 it still lacks the VGA remake of the Sarian Encounter.

They have not been. I have checking all of my games on a weekly basis to see if any have been updated to the 2.x installer over the 1.x, and updating all of them one at a time as they become available.
A little tip as with any AGI engine based Sierra game Gold Rush!, SQ1, SQ2, King's Quest 1-3, ect. PQ1 was optimized for PC jr hardware which Tandy 1000's were based off of so if you set DOSbox to PC Jr ot Tandy mode(machine=Tandy) you will here 3 channel music instead of bad emulated PC speaker beeps

The hell? Crap, I didn't get PQ during the sale because I didn't think they would ever get the EGA version of PQ 1. Anyone think I should wait and see if GOG will have a Sierra adventure game sale again anytime soon or should I just eat the $10 price? I'm questioning whether it's worth it or not as i've read numerous reviews that seem to suggest PQ 3 & 4 are not as good as the first two.
Police quests was mostly one of those few that I paid in full price.

PQ will go on sale again but there is no way of knowing how soon it will. I look at it like this that you are getting 5 games for $2 each when originally they were $55.99 each when they first came out. I would recommend that you take a look on YouTube for Gameplay of each the games and decide to go with it or not.

Yeah, I know i'll like PQ1 & 2 from what i've seen, it's just 3 & 4 I wonder about. In particular 4 as i've seen some reviews that say it's a bit boring and some of the puzzle solutions didn't make any sense logically. Hmmm, I think i'll bite the bullet and just grab them at $10, especially now that the AGI/EGA version of PQ 1 is included. Don't know why, but I love the text parser system of the earlier Sierra games since completing my very first Sierra game Quest for Glory 1 just some months ago.

I'm the same way of course for me it's because I grew up using text commands/parsers and feel they have a certain charm to them, not that I dislike the point and click methods of today I just have a soft spot for text based parsers.
