Arcanum is the closest gameplay wise to the First two Fallouts so if you liked them you may like Arcanum as well. Arcanum is a huge game though taking place in a fantasy setting going through an industrial revolution.

If your computer can play it and you haven't yet you may want to try Witcher which is only five bucks till the 24th of this month.

For adventure games may as well just play Beneath a Still Sky for free. Even though it isn't the best one, it is above average for the genre and gets you an idea what the genre is like. If you liked it, I would recommend Gabriel Knight which I think is the best of those type of games.

stellathestud10: What are your favorite games in the genre? Any suggestions for my next favorite game?
Adventure is my favorite genre, the Tex Murphy series is a pivotal time from my PC Gaming days and can't be more highly recommended. GOG has a lot of great titles to choose from, I usually buy whatever is on promo each weekend.

Arcanum is a very good game, but I can't recommend you enough Outcast. If you like science fiction, you are going to like the game, trust me.
Thanks for the suggestions everybody, I decided go ahead and get Outcast, I do love sci-fi and have never played anything with voxels before. It's a unique looking game and so far I'm really liking it. I'm also going to give Dragonshard a try and see if I can get into adventure games. Too many people say too many good things about the game type for me to ignore it.

stellathestud10: I prefer RPGs, some strategy, and some action adventure. Maybe even a shooter, as the last game I got was Duke3d with the Hi-Res Mod. From GOG I already own:

Fallout 1 & 2
Baldur's Gate 1& 2
Icewind Dale 1 & 2
Age of Wonders
Seven Kingdoms
Sacred Gold
Arx Fatalis
Advent Rising
Two Worlds
Gothic 2
Septerra Core
Never Winter Nights

I hear good things about Arcanum, and that's a possibility, but one game that has caught my attention is Outcast. It has an interesting look and the reviews make it sound interesting. Good Sci-Fi is hard to find. What are your favorite games in the genre? Any suggestions for my next favorite game?
Action-Adventure: Alone in the Dark 1+2+3 (no idea about the others, but I loved 2 when I was young)
FPS: XIII
Strategy: Master of Magic, Master of Orion 1+2, Empire Earth Gold Edition (note that while 2+3 are said to be bad, EE1 is actually fine), Age of Wonders
RPG: Realms of Arkania 1+2, Realms of Arkania 3, Might and Magic VII, Might and Magic VIII, Ishar Compilation
Jump'n'Run: Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project

For Serious Sam you'd be better off this weekend with the HD Gold Edition on Steam.

Taleroth: Not a fan of adventure? Those are the older games I can usually recommend most.

stellathestud10: I've never played many adventure games. What would be a good title to start with in the genre?
Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle

But that's difficult to get at a reasonable price.

Outcast is a beautiful and truly unique game, hope you'll enjoy playing it to the end.

If you want to get a feel for adventure games, you might want to consider something... well, better than Dragonsphere (that's what you meant, right?), especially if you didn't really care for BASS. Dragonsphere is not a bad game per se, but I think you'd be better off with a true classic like The Longest Journey or Gabriel Knight 1. Or even Syberia, though the gameplay in that one is a bit hit and miss.

Just my thoughts.
