Sielle: No dead bodies, but if you read the sticky, under the code of conduct, you will find this little gem in there.
"bumping” existing topics or creating forum petitions won't be tolerated"
Your original question wasn't the big issue, it was your bumping and response to chautemoc when they showed you the beg for this on GOG thread.

Darkenmal: I repeat, if they didn't like this thread (or the bump), they would have locked/deleted it.
The response I made wasn't rude or anything to chautemoc. The ending of your post makes no sense either, so you might as well edit that.
You guys need to chill. I bumped yes, but there is no need for all this. I didn't see it, didn't know. And if this is the greeting you give to new members, It's a wonder anyone sticks around to check out the site.

Dark, you also need to chill. You are new here, and with the exception of Sielle's post above, everyone was just trying to give some friendly advice that would help you get along with the community as a whole. You are taking that advice way too personally. As I explained before, GOG does not have moderators, we simply moderate each other. You would have to do something blatantly and excessively bad to get the GOG staff involved. I could probably count on one hand the number of times they have actually gone so far as to lock or delete a post (with the exception of obvious spam) because the community is so good about policing itself. This is all that is happening here and it is not personal at all.

I'm calm, i'm just wondering why I got these accusations. :)
Relax people. These threads are great; they let us discuss actual retro games instead of what's on Youtube today, why religion sucks/kicks ass or whatever. Many of us enjoy them, it's just a pity they're always derailed by someone who for some reason take offense when people discuss old games they want to see on GOG in this forum.
I agree the bump was a bit silly, though.

I just did it so that it would stay on the front page. :P

Yeah, but why? Let threads live or die on their own. The only valid reason I see to bump a thread is if it's a question you genuinely need answered. If everyone kept bumping threads when they become "unpopular", the front page would be filled with stuff nobody want to discuss.

And what happens when everyone decides to do that with their posts? And drop the childish answer of "Well if they didn't like it they would lock the thread." You've used it multiple times so far. That's akin to saying it's only wrong if you get caught.
EA are the ones you should be bugging about this. GOG can't release their games without their permission.
Come on, Darkenmal. We don't need these losers. *walks off into distance*

Will you be walking away to the Michael Landon Highway to Heaven music or the Bill Bixby Incredible Hulk music?

Totally gotts be the Incredible Hulk music, that is the far superior "walking away" theme.

Everyone forgets poor old Michael Landon
Way to welcome a new member guys, who cares that he bumped? He didn't know the rules, no need to to go all E-Nerdrage on him. -Thumbs up-

cogadh: Wow, I never noticed that little gem before. Now I feel bad for bumping the FAQ back up (then again, it only gets a bump every few weeks). Of course, the FAQ would probably qualify as an exception to the rule, just like the demo links thread, the Win 7 testing thread, the Linux/Wine thread, etc.

Considerate bumping I think is acceptable.
