This plea isn't for me.. it's for my dad.
He WORSHIPS these games, and I wanna buy one for him, but I don't wanna pirate it. (Reward good games, even though they are super ancient. :))
Can you guys pop by on the wishlist and just rate all of the wing commander games once? It'll take like 30 seconds of your time. My dad would really appreciate it. :P

Well, most of us already have voted for it, but honestly, just because a game is voted for a lot on the wishlist does not mean GOG will actually be able to get it. All the wishlist really does is give GOG a place to start when trying to decide which games they might try to go after next, but in the end, its all up to whether or not the current rights holder(s) are willing to sell their games on GOG. You can be reasonably certain that games like the Wing Commander series are fairly high on GOG's priority list already.

Excellent. Well, given that the franchise is all but dead, I think anyone would want to make some money off of this (dead) but still good series.
More votes and more attention would probably increase the chances of it getting the games release realized.
I have Kilrathi Saga/WC4/Prophecy/Privateer/Academy/Armada working perfect in Windows 7 64-bit. Privateer 2, however, that's a different story. Damn thing is buggy as hell.
Attached is my Wing Commander collection.

Cool. If you had a life sized cardboard cutout of Saffron Burrows your collection would be complete. Do the games still run?

Probably, though we won't get them until EA signs up with GOG.
I agree these are excellent games well worth adding, though. I've completed the first one many times. Wing Commander was way ahead of it's time, and it's so sad that there's no modern equivalent. I'd love to get an excuse to sign back on the Tiger's Claw.

I have something close to a cardboard cutout of Saffron Burrows... check the attachment.
Yeah, they all work great. I occasionally get weird colorization in Wing 3, but a simple restart fixes it. Other than that, it's all good.

Doubtful. The top ten games on the wishlist have not changed since the day the list was implemented, over a year and a half ago now. We only just now got our first game from that top ten (Outcast). While I'm sure the list provided GOG some incentive to get that game, I seriously doubt it influenced Atari in any way, especially with how broken the wishlist really is. As it is now, the wishlist is really more for the community to feel some sense of participation in the process than it is to provide rights holders with any incentive.

I am getting all misty eyed for the days when my new pc games came in a huge cardboard box.

I think its useful, it could show EA there is (somewhat) an audience for the Wing Commander series on GOG.
bump. :)

Darkenmal: bump. :)

Wing Commander...Loved that game. The first time you went out and scrambled to find the missile key... Loved it. They have a couple Playstation games too, though I never tried them.

Unnecessary bump is unnecessary. You only posted this thread 6 hours ago, common "netiquette" says you should wait at least 24 hours before bumping anything.
Yeh wing commander prophecy was one of my first computer games as a kid and id love to be able to go back and play the entire series. my dad still has it and the missions run fine but the movies that made half of what the game was don't run to well. Its also a shame that the entire space combat genre is considered dead not just the series
