If not, this would be the end of Youtube. They must look at all videos now to see if rights of some capitalists are infringed that can't get enough money from music other people created (=GEMA).

And Youtube must use a word filter. Yea. Have fun with the false positives!

Really, block Youtube in Germany! Tell people that Youtube is blocked because of the GEMA. Let people run rampant against the worst culture killers since 1945!

he means somthing pretty offensive.
I'd rather see Germany finally blocking this obsolete and obscure mess that they call GEMA ...

As a sidenote, the polemics about capitalists and 1945 don't really help your argument though.

So wait. Copyright owners want more money?

This doesn't seem that different from the situation in America. :P
Seriously, which significant event happening in 1945 does he mean?
I am seriously confused.

...I also feel slightly terrified, since I have finals in a month and, being in IB, I have to pass History HL...

So yeah. What the hell happened then?

National socialist government forcibly replaced by democracy/communism would be my guess.

July 9th 1945. A women gave birth to trash horror author Dean Koontz.

Anecodatally known as the day culture died.

I assume it's that anyway, can't think of anything else going on that year.

In Finland performance rights organizations are raking in money even from CC music. Insaleny enough that money is then compensated to people not responsible doing that CC music as they are not members of the organization.

I'm wildly impressed that you can't think of anything else.
The living almanac of world history?

Neither can I. Not a lot happened in 1945, as I recall. I do know there wasn't a lot of sport on in that year for some reason. Quite strange.

End of the nazi regime. Never afterwards had we such a big threat for culture in Germany as we have now.
GEMA is annoying, but your comparison is a bit extreme...

What comparison? That the nazis were still worse than the GEMA, but that we had nothing as bad as the end of web 2.0 afterwards?

The way you said it made it sound like removing the Nazis from power was a bad thing.
