gyokzoli: So, here is Orban Prime Minister, who is probably the biggest Hungarian asshole of all time (and the most corrupt).
And you might think that, the majority of Hungary voted on him (or his party, Fidesz).
Wrong!
Fidesz only got 44% of the votes during the parliamentary elections. And yet, Fidesz got 67% of the mandates. How can it be possible?
Well, they modified the election law in a way that it made it possible. The same happened during the municipal elections.
And please read this blog: link
Same sort of things happened for Republican Primaries. Most primary votes would have gone to Ron Paul after a bunch of top picks dropped out. The old-school Republicans don't like Ron Paul, so they changed the rules of the vote at the last minute so that Ron Paul couldn't even be on the ballot. And you might think that, the majority of Hungary voted on him (or his party, Fidesz).

I like democracy. No matter who is on the ballot, I like it when the people make the good or bad picks. And bad picks are sure to come. But the idea of democracy is that the people will learn from their mistakes and their mistakes will be short-lived.
I hope you get someone decent in your country sometime soon.

Bavarian: Here's parts from a speech of Günther Oettinger, European Commissioner for Digital Agenda. His English is the most embarrassing I have ever heard. This guy represents Germany in the EU.
I think his spoken English is still better than mine...real.geizterfahr

Bush wasn't that bad! I can't say much about his politics, but he always made me laugh ;) He's a guy who's not afraid of [url=http://0.tqn.com/d/politicalhumor/1/S/u/K/bush_bookupsidedown.jpg]trying things in a different way (No, he really isn't! !!!). Yes, I can see why some people think he's a [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdW30AefDF0]dodgy character... But I miss him anyway :(

Don't worry, in Poland we have two major parties which hate each other (or, my conspiracy theory, love each other but pretend to hate each other because open conflict is the best way to gain support for both of them) and both of them are almost the same (with some aesthetic differences). There isn't really anybody to choose from. And you might think that, the majority of Hungary voted on him (or his party, Fidesz).

Hugo Chavez was a pretty moronic leader of Venezuela. How a country that is 13th in the world when it comes to petroleum has to trade that commodity for things like beans is mind boggling. His successor, a bus driver, isn't faring much better with all the protests and the fact that oil dipped in price. And don't make me bring up Bolivia. That country is has an overabundance of resources and yet all of it is squandered. Every last bit of it. Plenty of countries are just untapped sources of potential more or less.

"Hugo Chavez was a pretty moronic leader of Venezuela.", is that so? Nicolás Maduro, a former bus driver, yes - sounds like this is a problem for you?

tinyE: Forgive my ignorance, but was it the Mayor of Toronto (who I believe recently died) that was kind of nuts? You had someone up there that the media in the States fell in love with. Elvis is Dead

ScotchMonkey: Yeah our mayor was Rob Ford who was basically a drunker and fatter George W. Who also smoked crack from time to time (this actually happened and Toronto police have the tape). He was a spectacular mess and the media lapped it up with both hands. Six months later he was RE-ELECTED! I kid you not. :P
