First off, let me say that I think the design of GOG.com is gorgeous. It is, however, not without its faults. The most glaring issue is the fact that on my 1080p monitor, is uses just under 45% of the available screen width. This mostly isn't an issue when browsing the site - nothing more than a slight annoyance.

But on the library page, this issue becomes much more apparent, and there are other issues as well. With 135 games, no ability to group games together, no genre sorting, no ability to adjust cover size, and the gross underuse of screen real estate, it's extremely difficult to efficiently locate games in my library. The list view is worse, as it uses even less space. Just around 28% of my screen width to be precise. I've given up on trying to manually sort my games a long time ago. It's just extremely tedious to micromanage my collection in this way.

I believe that the site could really benefit from a complete redesign of the library page, and with it perhaps some improvements of the design of the site in general. Use responsive design practices to make the site adapt to the users setup, and introduce more options for the user to control his/her library. With a big library such as mine, the ability to create groups and locate items by genre is essential. The lack of these basic features is mindblowing to be honest.

This is an honest criticism, that I really hope will be taken to heart. The library page is arguably the most important page on the site, so it deserves to have a high focus on usability. A well-designed library page should be able to keep me coming back, just to admire my collection. As it is, I will rarely even enter the page, unless I need to download something, and oftentimes I will even forget what titles I already own.
Why not use the Library's search bar? It'll even search by genre.

Well that's wonderful, I never knew that :)

It's still a small comfort though. I'd prefer not having to use the search bar in the first place, which would be possible if the page was better designed, but I will use it if I have to. And my other points remain valid.
GOG is currently on a recruitment drive for, amongst other positions, Web Developers and User Interface specialists

So it looks like they're on it but the first stage is employing more peeps...

I don't know why, but that search hasn't worked for me for many months, it just does nothing. Maybe I have too many games or something. I usually find it is easier and faster to find a specific game from My Games page with the browser search (Ctrl-F) instead.

I don't think it's witchcraft.

Implementing some soft of pagination or at least client-side caching would probably do wonder for performance.

There is an over-saturation of talented web developers. If they really want to fix this, they can.

If some people think it's bad with 100 or so games, they should see what it's like for those who have most of the catalog.

Search seems to work on Shelf view, but not List view.
On the GOG library page, I keep wishing it would show 10 games per row instead of 5. It's too bad that there is no way to adjust this.

This. 644 games as of now, library search is deader than dead, library view is ass-slow.

Hmmm, that seems to be the case indeed. I hope they fix it, as I prefer the list view. But meh, I have the workaround.

We don't know how much of this, admittedly nice looking website is spaghetti code held together with gross hacks though - Maybe they're in one of those situations where they need to untangle stuff and step back a bit before they can move forward?

Well, they'll have no sympathy from me on this front, because whenever I worked with spaghetti code in the past, it's because my employer took the wrong shortcut.

GOG has been profitable from some time and it a web based company. They should know better than to skim on the design of their web site.

EDIT: Even when working with spaghetti code though, it's still not witchcraft, it just takes more time. Then again, some of my past employers have been like "I don't want you to restructure the code better, I just want you to fix the bugs". Translation: The next guy who needs to fix something will have to go through the same gigantic waste of time I did.
