I'm having a nostalgia attack :)
Got myself the first Gex game from the PSN and I'm having such a blast (and no saves... a password system... awesome ;) )!
I know that in case of old games very often our memories are better than reality, but I have to say that getting back to the old PSX games just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :)
I decided that just as I'm playing old PC games thanks to GOG I will also devote some time to play some PSX games that I never had the chance to finish and refresh some games that I did finish.
Therefore, after I'm done with Gex I'll be buying the first Medal of Honor (this game is just so good!), I'll give a chance to Parasite Eve 2 and will finally finish Final Fantasy 9 (like I have already mentioned in a different thread).
I know that GOG is a PC-games site, but hell, I'm sure many of you had a PSX and are still playing some good old playstation games.
You should DEFINITELY finish FFIX. FFIX is GLORIOUS.
For an even better nostalgia goggles experience, go ahead and play Guardian's Crusade or Tekken 3. :)
I have just one PSX game and I have tried repeatedly to complete it, but never have: Final Fantasy VII. Every once in a while I get the nostalgia bug for it, it lasts about a week, then I get bored with the game and forget about it again. Of course, every time I do get the nostalgia bug, I start a whole new game because I can never remember what I was up to the last time I played and FFVII is not really conducive to delayed playing like that.

Guardian's Crusade was that PRG with the pink creature? :D I remember that one. Never played it though. It will probably pretty hard to acquire.
As for Tekken - I loved fighting games, but that love passed :) I did play the hell out of Tekken 3 though ;)

I agree you need to finish FFIX. My son just took my PS1 game and played it through on his PS3 and loved it. I think its funny he has a shelf full of $60.00 games for the PS3 and was very satisfied with FFIX.

I do have VII. I didn't play it back in 1997 though so I can't really play through it as it has aged very badly. My favourite PS1 games are MediEvil series, Vagrant Story, Metal Gear, Resident Evil 3 and Crash Bandicoot 3. I don't get nostalgic about them though, when they were released I didn't have a video game console.

Your son is an awesome human being. We need more like him! :D
The funnest game ever released for the PSX has got to be The Italian Job, if anything for the awesome soundtrack it has. Bushido Blade 2 is also a ton of fun. And Tomba! how can we forget the awesomeness that is Tomba!, I mean you go around biting pigs and holding on to them like you're going to dry hump them to death, that game is brilliant.
