Wineskin?

Don't you just mean WINE?

Oops, should have made the question a little clearer:

It's WINE, but a number of these games have wrappers downloadable from this place called Wineskin that makes them.

However, I've so far been able to make Wineskin's wrappers work with the CD versions of the games, and I'm not sure if the download versions of these same games from GOG works as well.

Of course, if you've managed to get any of these games to work using WINE or any of the other spinoff applications that are created based on WINE, that would be amazing.

As a rule of thumb, the games on GoG do work on wine and products that use it. They usually run better than or the same as the old versions you might have on disk.

Note: PlayOnLinux has a Mac OS X twin called PlayOnMac.

So, to get games working you can use:

*plain wine (not recommended for newbies)
*Wineskin (free)
*PlayOnMac (free)
*CrossOver (trialware)

If you're looking for some games to pick up and play, SiN Gold, Red Faction, Red Faction 2, Etherlords 1 and 2, Sacred Gold, and Earth 2160 have all worked out of the box on my Mac through Wineskin.

Before you buy though, make sure you check to see if a game works on Wine by checking the Wine Application Database, the CrossOver Compatibility Centre, and the PortingTeam forums.
