Hi everyone!

Total newbie here! :-) I only recently registered when I came across Gog on my Cybermonday shopping spree and noticed they were offering the Tex Murphy games at a simply irresistible price. Been watching their sales ever since and I think I've snapped up more games in a few weeks than I've bought over the last three years or so lol. And now with the winter sales on, I'm quickly turning into a daily visitor, to the site and the forum, the latter in lurk-mode. ;-) It's awesome to see how friendly and helpful everyone here is! And I also noticed there's just so much generosity going on here with constant giveaways and such, sooooo...

Thought I'd stop lurking in on all of you, say hi, buy a gift code and jump in with a little giveaway of my own! :-)

What's up for grabs?

1 code for Planescape Torment (GOG)

How to get it

1. Post 'I'm in' here in this thread
2. Name your favourite GOG game and tell me why (as a newb, would totally love to hear from all of you what the must-have games on here are)
3. I'll close the giveaway on Sunday December 22nd, use random.org to draw the winner and pm the code to him/her.

So hi there (again lol), let the posting begin! :-)

Welcome to GOG. I already have the game but I appreciate your generosity. I will add in my favorite game though. I would say Thief is probably my favorite game on here. I've played through it quite a few times now and, in my opinion, it beats out nearly all the stealth games released since.

Thanks for the welcome! :-) I never tried any of the Thief games before, will look into them. I'm generally not into fps shooters, but I really like the stealth approach these games have. Would you suggest the first one out of the three available here?

That's a very fine idea of you. Welcome in active mode! ;-)
Not in, but of course +1 for the giveaway.
Gothic II Gold is one of my favourite games, a very good Rpg with a huge world to explore.

I'm in and thanks for the giveaway.
Way to make a splash, Corwim, and welcome to GOG.

Not in, since I've had PS:T for ages. But here's my recommendation: you can't go wrong with Arcanum, which combines a sandbox RPG with elements of both magic and steampunk, and (because of all the character build options and side quests) has an excellent replay value.

Next favorite of all my GOG games would be Master of Magic, a classic 4X game with a couple of interesting twists, including two parallel worlds to conquer at once.

Cheers!
Welcome to GOG! Not in, but thanks and +1 for the giveaway! Not sure I can pick a favorite game here, but Beyond Good & Evil is definitely one of my favorites. :)
Thanks for the giveaway! PT is in my wishlist, so I'd love to be in.

My favorite game in the GOG vault is . I played the PlayStation version back when, which I bought bundled with the deliciously weird and sinister [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC1AUa_JFXw&list=PLCDFD2179041A287F]soundtrack. Any fan of dark Sci-Fi and bizarre humor should really take a look at this classic. Since "on a good day, only 2.5 million people will die", you reluctantly leave your job as a janitor and skydive down onto massive space ships sniping bad guys. Gotta play it again one of these days.

Right, the community here has been great so far, I started my recent giveaway for the same reasons as you did.

+1 and Merry Xmas!
I'm not in, because I already own a physical copy of the game (and I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of the opportunity to play it).

My favorite game on GOG is Neverwinter Nights. Sure, the official campaign is average (the second expansion was fantastic, at least), but the community keeps me coming back for more. Between the modules and the persistent worlds, I've been playing the game for nearly ten years.
Not in, as I own Planescape in a box and on GOG as well, and it's a brilliant game. But welcome, and +1 rep.

I second the Thief suggestion, though - forewarned is forearmed - it is much less magical in these modern times, what with dated graphics and some hit-or-miss movement schemes. Back in the day, though, it was about as good as gaming got.

I'm also very fond of Project Eden, which was a recent discovery for me (and one I found purely because of a GOG sale). Like the Thief games, it suffers some from the places our tech has gone since it was released, but for all that I had a blast playing it. A real treat, and a game that is for the most part undiscovered.
I'm in.

Buy Ground Control 1 and 2 you won't regret it.

Also you can buy Chronicles of Riddick.

Thanks.
Thanks for the welcome everybody! And I'm only too glad to join all the generosity going on around here, but thanks for the +1's! :-)

Thanks for the tip! Exploration is one of the things I enjoy the most in RPGs, so this one sounds right up my alley.

Woot, you're the first one in! :-)

Thanks TwoHandedSword! I actually have Arcanum, I bought it when it came out originally! :-) Loved the idea of mixing magic and steampunk! I had problems running it decently on the pc I had back then though, so never played much of it. Should see whether I can get it to work now, or get it on Gog here if that fails.

Master of Magic sounds great too! I'm looking forward to the 4x4 bundle if it gets picked for tomorrow's deals, though I think this one is not included in that. Will be keeping an eye on it to see whether it's included in another bundle during these sales.

Thanks Akhliber!

Don't think I've heard of that game before, will look into it! :-)
Not in, but thanks for doing this GA with such a great game.

My fav - Wizardry 8 - buy it, NOW!!! :D

Thanks for the recommendation! This looks like it could be my cup of neon tea, as I love well-done Cyberpunk material. And it seems to come with an emphasis on varied puzzle-solving on top. Threw it into my wishlist.
I'm in. Thanks for the giveaway :)

My favorite GOG game would be Neverwinter Nights 2. I loved it when it came out and it influenced me to try other Dungeons & Dragons games like Neverwinter Nigts, Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate series which I loved as well :)
