Thanks a lot for the giveaway I would like a chance to be in for Planescape Torment as well. I am also new here on GOG and unfortunately haven't played a lot of the huge collection of awesome games available, but one game I really love and would recommend if you haven't played it is the Prince of Persia: The Sand of Times. This is one of the best modernizations of a classic game the original Prince of Persia thanks to the involvement of Jordan Mechner. Also I'd like to recommend 'The Witcher' and 'The Witcher 2' great rpg games with awesome combat mechanics as well as a really strong protagonist unlike other rpgs where the character is usually a blank slate. Happy Holidays :)

Welcome, Corwim, and thank you for being so generous as to do a giveaway! That's really awesome of you, but I guess that's exactly what GOG is about. :)

My favorite GOG game is probably - if I had to choose - Icewind Dale I or II, but I have lots of faves. It's so easy to get addicted to buying things on here. xD
Hi Abbie, thank you for the welcome. :-)

Added you to the draw! i'm looking forward to getting into the Icewind Dale games. I'm playing Baldur's Gate 1 at the moment, but will check out ID after I finish with that one, thanks for the tip! And lol, I know what you mean, it's so easy to get addicted to buying games here, certainly with all these amazing sales going on! :-)

Hi stg83! You're welcome, added you to the draw. :-) I remember playing the original Prince of Persia, great fun! I didn't know Mechner was involved with one of the modern Prince of Persia's as well, definitely will look into that one, thanks for the tip! :-) I also added both The Witcher's games to my wishlist, I hope I'll get one of them in the personal daily surprise sales on the main page. *fingers crossed*

I'm in!

Welcome to the GOG community. Too bad you missed "Insomnia" in November as that would have been a great introduction point for you. I'm only just getting around to playing some of the games on my shelf so I am not sure of my favorite yet, but the one game that brought me to this site two years ago for King's Quest VI so I bought that bundle and played it through for the memories. Been hooked ever since. Enjoy the games without letting your wallet dry up! HA!
Thanks for the giveaway, Corwim! +1

I'm in.

My favourite GOG game until now is Broken Sword, actually I made the account here just to grab it. And for why it's my favourite game is because I love point&click adventure game and, also, the game's animation is very good, story is great and the sound is nice, too.
Hello Corwim ! Welcome to the club! The community seems a pretty nice place to be, as I've seen by checking out the forums months before I decided to make my first post (I tend to be a bit reserved, you see).

Anyways, I'm in. My favourite game from gog I've played insofar is Syberia, as it has a very nice story. I was also intrigued by King of the Dragon Pass (of which I've played the developers demo and which I plan buying on gog). Also, I heard that Planescape Torment is a good game, but I didn't want to buy all the other games that were on the recent bundle that included it (and that's why I'm entering in the first place).

Well, that's it from me. I'm going to wish you beforehand (as I may not have access to a computer on Xmas) Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and may your wishes become true!

Welcome to GOG, Corwim and thanks for this giveaway.

My favorite game here is Arcanum. If you haven't tried it you definitely should, its an RPG with really special world that sucks you in with the freedom of choices that matter.

The_Evoker: I'm in. My favourite GOG.com has got to be Deus Ex I have yet to play a game that has left the same effect(besides Bioshock but bioshocks not on GOG) any DE also has a great story and pacing and interesting characters. If you do play the game don't level up swimming its fairly useless.
avatar
Corwim: Added you to the list! :-) Hm, I have this 'not my cup of tea' feeling with Deus Ex, but I have absolutely no recollection how I got that lol. Should give it another try, thanks for the tip!

Hairyfiend: Hey there Corwim,

Recent viewer to the website myself after seeing a mention on facebook. Geeked out at the games on here, and now have an epic wishlist, drooling over the winter sale. Kicking myself for missing the RPG collection the other day with the Bioware games.

Favorite game, hmm, I would have to go with Dungeon Keeper (first one). Loved that to bits when it game out, taking absolute care to maximise the chambers for those annoying heroes!

I'm in please.
avatar
Corwim: Hi Hairyfiend,

Hehe, I saw a few mentions pop up on my facebook as well mentioning the free Fallout games, think the word of mouth did its job there. ;-) My wishlist is pretty epic as well by now, and I keep adding to it lol. The D&D bundle was an awesome deal! Hoping for you it'll come back before the sales are over.

I've only played the second Dungeon Keeper for a bit, and liked that one, but I never got round to getting the first game in the series, awesome that it's another classic here on gog, added now to my wl as well. ;-)
I never knew a thing about cyberpunk video game before I played and when I did play it, I couldn't believe what I was missing

Hi Dal4fsu, thanks for the welcome! Added you to the draw. :-)

Hehe, I've read about the Insomnia sales in a few topics here, sounded like they brought a lot of fun to the forum as well. :-) Ah, I LOVE King's Quest VI! My very first computer game was actually King's Quest IV, been a huge fan of the Sierra adventure games ever since. I even have an original boxed floppy disk version of KQ VI! :-) I really hope there will be a bundled winter sale for the Sierra games in the following days, would love to experience these awesome games again! Lolz, the wallet drying up issue may definitely occur if they keep up these great deals. ;-)

Hi Air-Trigger, added you to the draw. :-)

Another fantastic adventure game! I played it when it came out originally, absolutely loved it, it's sequel too. I'm interested in seeing what the Director's Cut adds to the game. Never really got into Broken Sword 3 because of its controls and then never got round to trying out Broken Sword 4. Throw in the newly released one, and that bundle would definitely be a must buy for me!

Hi Treasure, thanks for the welcome! Added you to the draw. :-)

Oh I totally understand, I'm usually pretty reserved as well, but this community seems to be very welcoming, love it. I have played Syberia, absolutely adored its story and graphics (gorgeous design!), but I thought it lacked a bit in the interactive bit of games, there were hardly any interactive hotspots in any of the locations. If they would have added more of those, little things like descriptions of the gorgeous architecture and such, that would have made the immersion perfect. Still loved the game though, in fact I bought it again here the other weekend when it was on sale, together with its sequel which I've never played before. Looking forward getting round to that one!

Hadn't heard about King of the Dragon Pass before, thanks for pointing that one out! Sounds like it's a fun game. Hehe, Planescape is I think the only game I previously played out of the D&D bundle, so getting that bundle kind of rests on the fun experience I've had with Planescape. ;-)

Thanks you, hope you'll enjoy a Merry Christmas and a Happy Newyear as well! :-)

Hi BranjoHello, thanks for the welcome! :-) Added you to the draw.

I really should look up my copy of Arcanum and see whether it still runs on my current pc, and otherwise get it on Gog here. The interesting mix between magic and (steampunk) technology made me go out and buy the game when it was originally released. Unfortunately, my computer back then couldn't properly run it so I never played much of it.

Hi, welcome, and +1 for you.

I'm in.

My favorite GOG game would be Darklands. Why? Because it is the best RPG ever. I know it is an old game and maybe it hasn't aged well, but I still consider it to be the best RPG ever. The first time I play it, there was no internet so I was unable to patch it, hence, I couldn't finish it. I had to wait 8 years until I had internet to play it again and then I was able to finish it (yeah, I kept my old saved games since somehow, I knew I would finish it one day).

What I like about it is everything (interface. story, gameplay, music, background music, sound effects, combat). If there was a flaw, was that without the patch, it couldn't be finished. Of course, it could be improved (specially now since games seems to be easier now). The only thing that might be missing is a journal to keep track of quests or missions. Other than that, I still consider the game to be perfect.

I also like the idea that for a game that old, the fact that your characters aged was cool. Even better when you notice that very old characters start losing main stats like endurance or strength.

Wow, that is some determination, keeping save games around for eight years, glad you were able to finish it eventually! I hadn't heard of it before, but it must be a pretty impressive game from what you say, will add it to my wishlist. Thanks for the tip!
I'm not in but thanks for the GA. My favorite games here are:
The Infinity Engine games, the Fallouts, Jade Empire, Heroes of Might and Magic series, Alpha Centauri and a hell lot more :). It's hard to choose from so many timeless classics.

My pleasure. :-) Great picks there! I absolutely adore the HoMM games (crossing my fingers that sales bundle with them comes back before the sales are over :-) ), I'm looking forward to explore the Fallout games more (thank you GOG for the free giveaway!) and I just picked up Alpha Centauri in the 4x4 bundle, so will be playing that one soon as well. Jade Empire is the only game I don't know, must check that one out. Thanks for the tips! :-)

Jade Empire is one I need to check out as well. I love BioWare and loved Knights of the Old Republic so I don't know why I haven't checked it out already.

Oh, it's a Bioware title? Didn't know that! Definitely need to check that one out then, wonderful this one is available drm-free on Gog. I love the KOTOR games, never got round to finish them though, and now I can't get them to run on my Win7 pc. :-/ Chances are slim I guess, but I would be overjoyed if somehow GOG would manage to get the rights to the KOTOR games and add them to their catalogue.

Awesome dude. That old Deus Ex saying "When ever someone talks about it another person reinstalls it" must be true.
