Does anyone know if GOG have had any luck getting the rights to this fantastic game?
How about the System Shock games? I can't get any of these to run on Vista.
I guess it shall remain a mystery till the day they arrive and those negotiations are meant to be kept private and all info they want to share is on those "coming soon" tabs. :)

From what I gather the rights to publish Torment are in limbo (and it's tormenting me!)
Developed by Black Isle with Bioware's engine and published by Interplay using TSR's license now in WoTC hands with Interplay forfeiting the license to Atari and WoTC not very interested in anything not 4th ed and no one interested in the defunct planescape setting.... Torment has apparently been mazed in the city of doors.....
But maybe GoG can change the nature of a man? Haha, we can hope right?
Yeah, Planescape is in rights limbo hell... I wouldn't expect to see it release anywhere legally any time soon. I have a feeling Atari might end up with the rights, and they don't digitally release their catalogue anyway.
System Shock 2 should be EA... I don't think there is any arguement over them owning it, and rumors are that Starbreeze studios is working on a new System Shock game for EA. EA might rerelease it at some point on Steam or whatever, but EA are not on GOG as of now.
That's all very sad. I wish rights owners would look at the reason their properties are worth anything in the first place before holding them in limbo forever.

Aparently not as CD Project rereleased the polish localised version on 22nd of may 2009. Box has ATARI logo as did Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate collections ATARI rereleased few year back. Planescape was also available at gametap until recently.
As far as I can see Infogrames/ATARI own the rights to Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment game. Most likely they purchased the rights durring interplay's financial difficulties like Bethesda did with Fallout series. Infogrames/ATARI also hold exlusive licence to develop and distribute games based on Hasbro franchises (AD&D among others) until 2016 with further 5 year extension if Hasbro is happy with the results. ATARI has also stated they will revisit Baldur's Gate series (among others) after 2009.
Infogrames/Hasbro/Atari...the D&D gaming licenses have always resided with them, even when Interplay was publishing games. Interplay actually licensed from them, and when they crashed, the license simply reverted along with all the games.
I think the reason these games aren't getting re-released yet is the same reason NWN isn't on Steam yet after having a forum there for over a year, but no software in the store. They just need to get their act together. If it's because of 4E, make a game announcement! No 4E games in the pipe = no excuses, so give us the old stuff again. We'll take it, hehe.
Does anyone know the best place to pick up Planescape: Torment?
Bundles with BG and ID are good too, as I also want to play those games.

Well, they need to start releasing their catalogue on GOG, Steam or even in retail box sets then....

totally worth it.
As much as I love the game, I'm not paying twice the price of a modern game for a game that old. I think I'll stick with my dodgy copy until I can buy one for a fair price. If I ever finish paying this power bill I must have a look for those big RPG compilation packs

If you pay $100 for Planescape on ebay none of that money goes to anyone who worked on or financed the game. The only reason to buy an ebay copy really is to have the box and manual if you are a collector... that is who those are sold to in the first place, and why they cost so much.
If you just want to play the game and there is nowhere to buy it officially, you might as well just download it (and this comes from someone who is staunchly anti-piracy).
If Atari ever wakes up and releases their old PC catalog digitally or in shops, then purchase that when you can.
