Yeah it's true Ubi and Epic are not the companies I'm worrying about as far as pc games go. It's just that they may be starting a trend, and if that were to happen to say Bethesda? That would be a shame because I will not buy Bethesda games on the console.

As I said before - where there is a free market, there is competition. You can be sure that:
1. A company that has built its position on PC games won't abandon it's profits;
2. ...And if they are somehow stupid enough and did, there are plenty of other developers, just waiting for the chance to take back at least a small part of the market.
A company either makes good games and has profit, or it's making crappy software, alienates its customers, loses profit and market share (and is being eaten alive by people who actually do what the gamers expect).
Apart from that, after what Bethesda did to Oblivion I wouldn't be a tiniest bit sorry if they decided to go away.

I see your point, but I liked Oblivion a lot despite its flaws and I love Fallout 3. So I guess I take the opposite approach to Bethsoft you do, since I enjoy their work ALTHOUGH they seem to have dumbed down their games to fit the console niche as well.
Perhaps I was just over-worrying, not sure, but thanks for reminding me of the free market.

Vader111: I have a dream. I have a dream that one day this platform will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that DRM does not solve piracy."
I have a dream that one day over gigantic LAN matches, the sons of former pirates and the sons of former DRM creators will be able to sit down together at the table of fraghood.
I have a dream that one day even in the offices of EA, a company sweltering with the heat of injustice and DRM, will be transformed into an oasis of DRM-free gaming.
I have a dream that any children I might have will not be judged as pirates and criminals because of the crimes of others, but by the content of their wallets (and perhaps character).
I have a dream today!

Hahahha! Nice parody on Martin Luther King Jr.
As soon as a significant amount of companies switch to console-only releases, the pirates will move over to the consoles and they'll end up rivalling the PC for piracy. Then we'll start getting spore-type drm on consoles, yay.
Before you know it, people will be saying the consoles are too heavily pirated and move back over to pc. :P

A significant amount have already done so and most of them plan to release for console ONLY.
I'm just waiting for the pirates to go nut-crazy on console titles. :P

They already have. There were thousands of torrents going for the 360 version of Fallout 3 starting 3 weeks before launch, and Fable 2 was on at least one torrent site around time of launch. How do I know? I like to be informed of what's getting pirated and by how much so.
Heh, the PSP is constantly getting hacked. it's up to firmware 5.0 and it's already been cracked to run homebrew, also iso's and emulators.
Pirate: "Game companies...you see they like to run, but they cannot hide from us!" (evil laugh)
