I was about to give up and just do the Cannon Fodder 3 deal but the Russian demo crashed due to my video card.

Either way, I can get some pretty graphics-heavy platformers (like Rayman Origins) to work because they recognize SSE but getting tired of ten-dollar gambles.

My Chrissy gift this year is a computer upgrade but I don't want to sqaunder bling on something that I can't use until X-Mas.

7300 GT....it fell short of what Cannon Fodder lists as minimal but I've got about forty games that I've been able to run after taking the gamble and calling the bluff so I usually worry more about the processor requirements.

Usually the CPU is not much of an issue, the stuff that keeps games from running at all is almost always tied to the graphics card. But Cannon Fodder 3 should indeed work on almost anything, it seems to exclusively support DX9. Your card definitely supports DX9 and shader model 3.0. I doubt that the problem is hardware related.

From GOG page. You have a 7300GT (I assume even at release a low end card?) and minimum card is 7800GTX. I would skip this game until you have stronger hardware.

As always I ALWAYS recommend to skip minimum and go after recommended and see that as the minimum as the official minimum is basically only what the creators have tested to work with minimum standards, not what actually should work in the long term (as in playing a lot with multiple different systems are barely reached the system requirements).
