TheEnigmaticT: So you may have noticed our server gnomes have caught fire. We are in the process of importing new server gnomes that have been supplied with an anti-fire warranty.*

*Note that this does not make them less flammable, but at least there's a piece of paper that says that they shouldn't catch fire.**

**Which inevitably burns up when the sever gnome does. Clever, that.
Caught fire? More like they spontaneously combusted so hard the little buggers almost instantaneously disintegrated. It'll be okay, though. Overall, the visual invokes the image of a beautiful Polish lady wanting to do numerous highly sensual things to my wallet. Only weird part is that in the image, the woman has your voice....

I think we can all agree that's very weird. >.>

At least in the image the lady doesn't have identical facial hair to boot.
I was offered The Cat Lady, which I also already own. Gog, if you can't make this enjoyable, just don't do it, ok? Or let me choose one of the other boxes. I understand that I'm out of luck if all 3 boxes are games I own. But at least let me try for something else?

Wait 24 hours? The system is set up such that it is less likely you will get a game you already own, but it can still happen.

There's 16 days of sales. Come back tomorrow and see what you get then. :)

A friend of mine (sitting right next to me) just got Outlast for 66% off, which happens to be the discount offered to the general public. Not very much of a personalized deal there.

You think that's bad? I got a 75% off discount on a game I already own....
Hmm, I too was offered a special sale for a game I already own. I understand some people re-buy games to gift to friends, or unscrupulous individuals buy extra copies to scalp and profit off of, but not everybody does this. This is already reminding me of the Insomnia Sale, neat gimmick in theory, awful idea in reality.

At least it is actually a discount. You can always gift it to someone else.

You know what would be even better? A deal sharing thread where everyone trades off their specials that they don't want (or other people are looking for). It's not like that sweater you never wanted irl. :D
Even worse, I tripped on the curb on the way to work this morning. Somehow it's this promotion's fault - fix it GOG!
Day 2... "mystery button" got offered yet-another game I already own.

Oh. Boy.

Here's a little algorithm for you.

1. User clicks button.

2. Pick random game.

3. Is GOG going to splash a "GAME OWNED" red banner on this game?

4. If yes, save us all some grief and go back to step 2.

5. Profits!!

I think someone said you can only buy one copy . Also many people liked the Insomnia sale :)

I personally didn't like it, I ended up only buying a couple games during it because I never managed to find more games I wanted when they were on sale. Plus I never got any of the free game offers despite clicking the claim button the instant the free deal went live, I'm guessing Russians/Chinese/script-kiddies/etc. figured out how to gank them all. Just a frustrating experience, doubly so because I wanted to give GOG more money but couldn't.

Anyways, I manged to get a deal today for a game I don't have, so either I got lucky or GOG tinkered with the algorithm for how it picks your deal. Huzzah!

You got lucky...

"Game Owned" for me. The amazing thing is that they already *know* we own the game, and the likelihood of someone buying a game they already own (even as a gift) has to be way lower than the likelihood of their simply being mildly annoyed and going elsewhere to spend their money.
