I need new earbuds primarily for gaming, video watching, music, and if it has a mic for phone and / or pc that would be good as well. I want in ear headphones. I hate over the ear headphones so please don't recommend those to me i also hate shure headphones that are shapped to wrap around back of your ear. I love a good amount of bass and the small earbud form of the razer moray plus and sennheiser pc 300 g4me (both of which i own and are now broken please do not recommend that i buy these again as both companies are sending me replacment both of which i will be selling on ebay). My budget is $250 a little more or a little less. I will even spend close to $300 if it is worth it. yes i am willing to spend that much on in ear headphones. i bought the monster turbine pro golds however they hurt my ear. sennheiser offered me the new cxc 700 earbuds for half price (when i ship them my broken headphones.) please assist me in my quest for perfectheadphones.

Ok first of all you need to decide between a PC or a phone mic. PC's don't tend to have the mic in the same plug as the head phones. Personally I would skip the mic all together and just use a clip on mic with a pass-through such as this.

http://www.amazon.com/SmartTalk-Headphone-Adapter-Control-Microphone/dp/B001C0LBEG/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1306728118&sr=8-27

Can use it as a pass-through with a phone, or as a separate mic for the PC.

Next, if you're insisting on earbuds, then I can't recommend enough that you spend the money on getting a custom molded fit for them, something like Earsound Customs.

From there you just mainly need to decide how much you're willing to spend. If you have some buds that you like the sound of but don't like the comfort the custom mold should fix that issue.
Razer... been mentioned quite a few times today, starting to think they must be good. Any Aussies know if there are local suppliers of this loot?

thanks, the custom mold sounds interesting. however I think the small form factor of the razer and sennheiser earbuds is perfect. they fit properly and do not cause me any discomfort at all. however they have failed me and i know i can get better sound from other small form / similar shaped earbuds.

i love the razer lycosa keyboard. also the razer nostromo is incredible for gaming and you will never want to use a regular keyboard again! the razer onza is also great for gamepad controlled pc games. i think it is better than the standard 360 controller. for razer in australia you could try amazon.
Well if you're literal about getting PERFECT headphones, I have just the thing for you:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/ACS-T2-Dual-Driver-Monitor_Headphones_review

Custom-moulded for your ears, dual-driver monitors. These are probably the best you can get. If you want somethingmore affordable and less excessive, here's another option:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/Phonak-Audeo-PFE-112-Earphones_Headphones_review

I wouldn't suggest going below those prices if you want really good headphones. Then again, I'm a bit of an audiophile so my views might be a bit biased. Hope you find what you are looking for!

thanks for the advice. are the phonaks, the type of headphones you wrap behind your ear?
Google IEM, In-Ear Monitors.
Awesome isolation + insane sound as on most professional audio gear ;)

In addition, be sure to add what you are using them for in the search engine. For example, "Gaming IEM"

I have a pair of IEM's for drumming that are made for guitar....and as a result aren't being used. Then again, finding a good pair of e-drumming IEM's for cheap is next to impossible, at a low price at least.

They say "The PFE 112s fit into the hook over the ear style adopted by Shure for most of its range". You can check the review if you like, since I'm not sure exactly what that means.
In a nutshell, they say they're good for music but have changeable tips, and the black tips change the sound to a more deep, bassy kind which would be perfect for:

1. Gaming!
2. Movies

I seriously think these are your best bet, when listening to music you can use the grey (balanced) tips, and when gaming or watching movies you can use the black (bassy) tips! It's awesome!

If you don't feel the love, there's also Grado GR10, but those are 400USD I think. Best damn headphones you can find in addition to the ACS Dual Monitors, though
