LoL. MoO3 is actually a really good game now.

Couldn't tell you how many hours I've spent on that.

Horrendous on release. Very good now though with the right mods.

Sorry for the long winded rant, but I was a bit annoyed at some read reviews.
I can completely understand you. The standards are way out of balance. In principle there is nothing bad about a release of a game of any quality. It doesn't make the releases of better games more or less likely or makes the quality of other games higher or lower. It just doesn't matter at all.

However I can understand if somebody is frustrated by a release of a buggy game. There I am a bit on the extreme side and I rather had they would not release buggy games at all. This only creates frustration on the gamer's side.

Also if it's a bad old game, you can surely, ironically, express your opinion or give a low rating. After all, others can choose to ignore this opinion. Not every game has the same quality. Some are really bad. Gothic 3 is an example. Totally unbalanced. MoO 3 is another example: contains as much fun as a tax declaration.

Hmmmm ... perhaps. But I'll have to take your word for it as I'm not going to risk it ... It was simply too painful the first time. :)
You really should give it a go the next time it is on sale. Patch up to 1.2.5 and get all Bhruic's patches which make the game run as intended then mod up to stawberry, tropical or chocolate and you are away.

Actually I still have the Mac version on my computer (wasn't all that buggy by the time it came to the Mac, but I found the gameplay lackluster and boring) - do the flavor mods work on it?

I don't actually know to be honest. Never been a MAC user so never looked for it.

Plenty of information to be found at moo3.at and on the forums though.
