I always knew sports games were bad for you.
I punched someone who taunted me when I lost in NHL 09 once.
And grand Theft Auto has already been mentioned...great!
My two mates used to f*cking team up on me on WWF No Mercy in guest referee matches. I certainly wanted to axe them silly in the silent, tense moments afterwards.
Also, my mates (at the time) 7 year old cousin started laying into me after I demolished him at WWF Warzone after letting him win a few.
I love the Daily Mail! Everything is evil and is corrupting the kids! lol
I was whooping my brothers ass on Halo and he got pissed and quit...so I kicked him in the back of the head and yelled "pussy!" =P

Yep. Looks wise, he meets the criteria for jail bird #2847398
I like how they -don't- mention that he's also the exact same kind of person who's likely to cause a real-life soccer riot and get tons of people injured/killed that way.
Scapegoating as usual....Oh, Maury is on!
The Daily Mail article also points out that FIFA losing-streak and that Callaghan "also played the computer game Grand Theft Auto, which sends the player's character on a violent crime spree."

Fucking typical lying bastard Daily Mail.
Wait... how are people not blaming the fact that:
1. Apparently he's schizo.
2. Apparently he gets incredibly violent whilst drunk.
I mean, seriously? What the fuck, media? Oh, I know! I bet he went to school! It's all the school's fault for being in existence!
Things the media overlooks compared to shit like he played so and so:
Schizo like PoSSeSSeDCoW said.
Violent drunk.
Friends knew he was as well, but didn't help him nor did his family.
Really, blaming video games?
Any excuse to get shitty sports games off the shelf is a good excuse to me.

Of course they're going to blame video games. Because in the minds of most people, things like video games are still an "unknown factor." Sure, tons of people play them, tons of people understand that they're not going to make someone who isn't already prone to crazy into a criminal, but for most folks who can't be bothered to think beyond what they see on TV, all they understand is that this is something "new" and something foreign. They can't comprehend the effects something like this could have on people, so they're quick to blame it, because blaming the new thing is a lot easier than just trying to puzzle out a real cause.
It really all boils down to the notion that a lot of people are just stupid and lazy and don't want to bother to actually think and reason for themselves and would much rather find themselves a convenient scapegoat.

It's the Daily Mail. Think of it like the bastard child of Fox News and supermarket tabloids. You should only be concerned if they stop printing this kind of garbage, as that would mean the end of days is nigh.
PES is better than FIFA. Go and buy PES, Konami rulezzz. :P
