Arkose: It turned out to be a great PC release, but for marketing reasons we had to wait a while to get it. Unfortunately this will be repeated with Super Street Fighter IV.

Yes we had to wait 6 months but when SFIV did arrive it was magnificent. It was so much better than any other console version. I just hope that Capcom are making us wait for the same again.

melchiz: That is precisely the problem. Developers write engines for consoles, which have terrible GPUs. If you're going to port something to the PC, either tweak or rewrite the engine to run on the PC. Developers are lazy, as a game engine designed for a PowerPC quad-core and an outdated, slow GPU cannot be quick-ported to the PC.
Stop giving us slow garbage.

Well, until PC gamers buy more games I doubt they will do so, it just doesn't make business sense to rewrite the game from the ground up for a small sales return.

There is no PC version as yet, but I would be very surprised if they don't announce one (especially since it would be so cheap and easy to make).
Capcom has reportedly claimed that it would be impossible to deliver this as DLC, but anyone who knows about the major DLC expansions for GTA4 can see that this totally untrue. Capcom's real motive is profit: they can earn far more by wrapping up DLC as a standalone retail game. While it does have a slightly lower price than a brand new game it is still higher than it would be as DLC, and those wanting the comprehensive experience will consider picking up the version they don't have. Capcom earned huge profits by selling multiple retail revisions of Street Fighter II back in the day, and they would clearly love to repeat this for IV. Unfortunately for them the market has changed substantially since then, and changes like these are expected to be delivered via DLC. The fighting game faithful seem happy enough to foolishly snap this up, but even some of them can see what Capcom is really up to.

Yep, figured that was the case. I mean, they charge $15 for a bunch of costumes. Capcom is great as a PC developer but they're definitely among the worst for ripping people off.
It's just shitty they have to lie about it. If you're gonna be a scumbag, be honest about it. Like Kotick. That doesn't seem to hurt Activision's profits one bit. :P
I'm just as pissed about the environmental effects, too. :P
My plan is to buy it cheap. There's no way I'm paying almost full price for new characters and moves.
The other thing I hate is they're forcing people to buy it in order to keep playing online. What a shitty thing to do.

chautemoc: It runs great. They used to suck and outsource their PC games, resulting in shitty ports. But they've started using their MT Framework engine, building games on PC, then porting to console. I believe Lost Planet, Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV are the ones so far. Maybe more.

Somewhat strange considering that the pc version of Devil May Cry 4 run like crap, and it didnt allow to customize keys.

Arkose: Street Fighter IV was built from the ground up with the PC in mind; the arcade original (released months before the home versions) uses the Taito X2 system, which actually uses off-the-shelf x86 PC hardware and runs Windows XP Embedded (seriously). Because these units were able to be upgraded by arcade operators just like any PC the expected hardware scalability was there from the very beginning. Yeah, i've only heard good reviews about SFIV on the pc. But i believed that most of it was probably because the pc crowd was just being overtly generous at the bones they were being thrown at. I read somewhere that Capcom was considering ditching MT frameworks in favour of the Wii. too.

If by that you mean "use the SFIV flavour of MT Framework to make a Wii game", they've already done that in the form of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.

Not exactly. Capcom designed the MT Framework so that they can make games for multiple platforms simultaneously with much less effort; the games are initially built and tested on the PC even if a PC version isn't necessarily going to be released (although this process makes it very likely to happen). While there is talk of Capcom adding Wii support for MT Framework 2.0 it will still be PC-centric, and Capcom's current Wii games (including Wii-only games like Tatsunoko Vs Capcom) still use other engines.

Huh, it runs perfectly on my computer, and there is an option to customize both keyboard and gamepad keys completely. First pick Start, then options and you'll find both there.
