Would I buy a console?

No.

Is PC gaming dead?

No.

Bigs: GTA 5 *WILL* come to PC - delayed 6-12 months though
PC gaming has been dying for years apparently... not concerned.

Shaolin_sKunk: Uh, Red Dead Redemption still hasn't arrived on PC. Kinda sets the precedent for GTA V.

Which sucks because Red Dead Redemption is easily one of my favorite games of all time.
That's a game I'd really would have liked to buy.
As for the OP question, no, I would not buy a console, because it ultimately wouldn't be worth it for me. I have all the games I really want to play on PC.
No, I won't buy a console and I have never wanted to do that.

AlKim: I think the consoles are ridiculing each other there.
Dang, indeed. Yeah, I hadn't had my coffee yet when I saw the pic. <.<
I have converted to the dark side - I was pc only up until 2 years ago when I got a new ps2 followed by a ps3 and a psp. Since then pc as a gaming system doesn't seem so attractive to me anymore, I only use it to play my fav old pc exclusives and occasionally 'try out' modern games that I know are not worth 60 usd (no game is worth 60 usd in my eyes).
I would never, ever, ever buy a console. Ever. My laptop is good enough for gaming and many other things. Plus I don't pay 60 euros for a game. I can buy with 5 USD bundles with 10 games if I want :)
I've always been a PC+Nintendo handheld person. I honestly have no particular desire to use a console (particularly when I have a colossal backlog of PC games).

dirtyharry50: I think that is funny but you know something? I have no idea what "the cake is a lie" means? Judging by my list and current pace it may be a couple more years before i find out too. lol
You know what else? Matrix is a lie!

I don't have a problem staying behind the curve and playing games even years later than others (after all, we are in GOG)... except that sometimes it is hard to stay clear of spoilers, at least with games that are not that new anymore, but people are still actively talking about them.

Even without properly playing System Shock 2, I already know what the big shocker (pun intended) is. Or, I already knew certain someone will die when I started playing Final Fantasy 7. Maybe due to that, I didn't cry mantears when it finally happened. In fact, I found the whole scene somewhat cheesy. I think it was meant for emo-kids, not me.

Same with movies. People who saw the first Terminator after Terminator 2 didn't seem to be that surprised to find out that ARNOLD WAS A CYBERNETIC ORGANISM OMG! And that chick's baby is baby Jesus!

Then again, games are not supposed to be only about "surprising" story twists and such cheap gimmicks.

It was 3:30 am when I posted that pic. I'm amazed it actually has anything to do with gaming. :P
Nope.

My biggest problem too, I don't know what Mass Effect 3's ending is I just know that it ostensibly sucks. TVtropes is a god damned minefield in that regard. I refuse to look at any page that has a work I haven't finished in its entirety simply to prevent the temptation.

I haven't been playing a lot of story-driven games lately though, so I guess it's a moot point.

Even an old console like SNES, PS1, and PS2?

Same here! I already know I hate the ME3 ending. I just don't know yet why, exactly. Im dying of excitement to find out, why. :)

I have to say it is a relief when a console becomes so old that its games can be played on PC emulators. :) I just love e.g. ePSXe, how I don't have to use my TV to play the old PSOne games, and it even adds save-anywhere feature to all PSOne games.

If the PS2 emulator turns out to work as well, I'll probably not turn on my real PS2 never ever anymore. A bit like I haven't turned on my Roland CM-32L MIDI unit in ages, as using Munt emulator with old DOS(box) games is so much easier and more straightforward.

Not to mention that I am using DOSBox to run old DOS games, instead of running them on my ancient Pentium-133 retro-PC.

I don't like the emulators for PS1 N64 and PS2 GC, they just don't feel the same and its not as reliable as ZNES and Visualboy and Fusion.
