Stuff: Anybody looking for a real on-line deal for REAL MYST ? . . . =)

LOL That's what I love about re-issues. All the bastards trying to sell old games for extortionate sums get the wind knocked out of them. Unfortunately it's only on GOG which isn't much less obscure itself. Still, one day...

What may be worse than the price is someone will buy it ???
Maybe we should start an outrageous price thread for all the absurdities we find?

If I didn't have to create an account I would enter a review and talk about GOG.com selling it DRM Free for $5.99 and put up the New Release Picture.
Not so long ago I saw a copy of Planescape : torment for almost 500 dollars (amazon.com).

That woudn't make much difference to most collectors i know, which are the only ones i see as potencially interested in a sealed retail copy at that price (130 bucks).

Damn shame we didn't think of that before the Planescape Torment re-issue. But I've got a few nominees if anyone does create the thread.
It actually is dying to a certain extent. The variety in new titles/genres isn't anywhere near what it used to be (space sims, strategy games that aren't cookie cutter, adventure games, good rpgs, etc.) as the majority are modified FPS a lot of which are console ports. That said, as mentioned the focus is more on digital distribution as you cut out the overhead from packaging. The good news is that digital distribution has been driving the prices down and giving an outlet for smaller developers who do publish unique titles. Most storefronts today don't deal in PC because you can't sell them used/offer trade-in value due to CD keys/multiplayer aspects.

I HAD one... but it seems Starcraft 64 is now at a cheaper price now.

I remember Starcraft 64, the expansion Brood War needed the memory expansion to work. Lol, wow the good old days when consoles didn't come with RAM.............

Pappy55: Is the PC games indusry dieing a death?

Not yet, but once it's fully digital which it most likely will be within the next 2 to 3 years (and people with slow/capped Internet connections be damned), regional restrictions and regional pricing will really land a further hand in strangling it into submission.

Pappy55: Went into town today and hand a look in GAME, HMV and Gamestation and all 3 of them now only have a tint little 4ft racking for pc games..
I remember when game shops had a big area just for PC games..
Is the PC games indusry dieing a death?

In reality PC games don't sell as well to general consumers as consoles and their games do. PC games are shifting to digital distribution plenty enough that companies would lose money printing games on discs and shipping them out nowadays.
What I thought when I first saw the thread name was that the game industry isn't pumping out any good games anymore. I that is partially true. The true death of the game industry is when there isn't any good games left to buy anymore, then it will dry up.

People who'd buy a console RTS are bad enough. But on the Nintendo 64? Now? When it's on PC too? They deserve to be ripped off.
