The console community have given me a bad reputation for my anti console talk :P can some PC gamers please make my - a lil easier on me :)



GoG is a awesome digital platform worthy of purchasing games through! i look forward to the future on GoG because i see alot of potential in it to rival Steam! WIth the support of the PC community the options are endless for our beloved GoG!

Does anyone know any GoG future plans ? Do they plan to make a more 1 on 1 interface like steam ?

If u havent noticed its not just me in the world with this arguement theres entire websites and groups of people with the very exact oppinion. On every gaming website youll notice alot of bad energy around the word "port" this is owed entirely to the console. The only difference between everyones oppinion on console and mine is im not a mormon who beats around the bush :P

Good games are good games and bad games are bad games. Who cares what platform people have.

I'm sure developers do their best to makes games the best they can on each platform they offer them on within their budget.

player01 did u see dragon age 2 ? do uno how big of a budget that company had ? Its not really about the budget anymore because its not that expensive making a new game to play on 6+ year old hardware..its old technology

Did you play Dragon Age 2? The quality of the graphics the least of the game's problems. I mean if anything Dragon Age 2 makes the point that it is too demanding for game companies to create lengthy RPGs with varied locations. In the main quest and side quests, the same areas and maps keep getting used exactly the same way over and over again! Imagine, if they had to spend less money and time on making the graphics technically sound and thus having more money to make more varied location in the first place!

Note, I think Dragon Age 2 was dumbed down gameplay wise as well but I think it was to appeal to more mainstream demographics which are probably more likely to be console gamers.

Uhm, you don't seem very well informed. The costs aren't based on the hardware you make the game for. Voice actors don't get paid more for better hardware reqs. of the game? Do you think it costs more to have employers, software engineers, designers etc. if they make a game for the PC rather than the consoles?

PC gamer here. I don't own any HD console and I don't plan on buying one anytime soon unless it's the Wii2. I gave you - rep because you are spouting nonsense.
TW2 will be ported to consoles, it was already stated by CDP that it will happen. That only means that more people get to play an awesome game and CDP gets more money to invest in a sequel.
Lazyness has nothing to do with consoles or PCs but developers. Ever since the increase in casual gamers, which may have been caused by the launch of the wii but PC casual games are also responsible of, developers have been trying to simplify games in order to attract that demographic.
It's time to admit that the so-called hardcore gaming is becoming a niche and complex games with deep storylines will become less common because of their high production values and high risk to not recover the investment. Gaming has become main-stream and publishers will only back up projects that are sure to be profitable with little investment and high revenue.
In conclusion, if you want Witcher 3 to ever see the light of day pray that the PC version is successful enough to fund a console port and that the console port is just as succesful.

^ your half correct.. but it doesnt take a genuis to know that the bigger the world the more money and time required... the hardware on console has severe limitations.. imagine a pc game where the world is around 3x bigger than what u seen so far ? more environments more detail.. it would be epic..

Witcher 1 sold enough units to create Witcher 2..and Witcher 2 will outself Witcher 1 easily..so explain why u think the sequel needs a console port to be created ?

can someone please inform me why so many people are happy to always be playing games outdated by 6 years ? does no one want the advantages of new technology and less restrictions ? does no one enjoy large open world environments much larger than the stuff we currently have?

I shall do my best to inform you why some people are happy to play outdated games. It's because some of those games are actually quite good, some even without newer parallel of same or better quality.
I kind of enjoy large open world environments, but I also kinda like there to be a point to the game, and if the point of the game is just to lean back and enjoy the environment, then that's fine. But for those who might want to get an actual game out of it, a large environment does not a great game make.

Same with technology. It's nice that you can do great things with technology and make things even prettier (or at least more detailed), but if the only thing a new game brings to the table is more polygons, but less fun, why play it? There are new fun games out there, but there sure are a lot of "this is the same game you played 5 years ago, only with higher requirements, more polygons making it a bit harder to make out what's what and because of the higher fidelity, we've toned down the gameplay so you have time to comprehend the screen"

The site is mainly dedicated to old games, true. Doesn't mean the users are only dedicated to old games. I play both old and new. I just find there's a lot of good games from the past I missed, while the market is not being flooded by new games which I find equally interesting. And definately not as interesting that I'd throw $80-$95 (average retail price of a new game in Denmark) at a game which might be good solely on the promise of more polygons and "refined" gameplay.
