Hi
In the paypal menu to confirm payment, my postal address is requested - for what reason may I ask is this needed if I'm going to download from this site?
Thanks

That's a function/requirement of Paypal, not GOG.com. Paypal may be used to pay for physical good as well, and I imagine it's there so that the store may ask Paypal for where to send that stuff (even if most stores seem to handle the questioning of physical address themselves, not going through Paypal).

I don't know, but if you're paranoid about GoG using your mailing address for nefarious purposes, don't be. It's an amazing service, and the majority of us have had no problem with it.
Reputable stores will cross-reference the delivery address with your registered PayPal addresses to make sure you're the account holder, and you haven't been phished...
It's another level of security for both parties in a sale - although I regularly get deliveries made to my work address, I still have my home address registered with PayPal as both billing and an alternate delivery.
It's nothing really to be worried about. I'd be more worried if they didn't ask about it :P
Hi
Thanks for the quick response's
The reason I asked is because I've used paypal before to purchase games from an other site similar and it was just the payment option required. And there's no option to switch it off like you can with other payments.
I am glad to hear that TheCheese, it's being new an all, just checking.
Regards
This site is 100% safe, legal, and AWESOME. Don't worry about your method of payment on this site. What game were you buying, if I may ask?
I have not been asked for my postal address. Had you not confirmed your address with Paypal prior to ordering? If so it may simply be because GOG only accept verified Paypal accounts.
A favourite from my amiga days
Ishar - it's a game that was hugely entertaining, loved finding those bags of gold, and killing those giants. Haven't played the second and third installments, would be nice to see if I can master them all.
