Ever wonder the path those things take when they clean your room?

Well... now you know.
Dear Lord, it looks like Roombas ARE useful products and not a robotic Sham-Wow!
Fascinating, I figured the path it took was (more or less) random, but it does seem to cover the whole floor pretty good which I always wondered about.
Thanks for the link!
I love my Roomba. Robots FTW
Here in Pseudochina, we have to move those vacuums ourselves.
It looks like the Roomba opened up a portal to another dimension.

Nice link....I someday should get one to annoy my cat a bit during the day or for it to chase around.

The next generation of vacuums will be using lasers to position itself within the room, rather than randomly bumping off things hoping to cover the whole room.

400 bucks.....ouch. Also the problem with such units seems to be shape. Makes them round and they can get around rounded edges easier but not all the way flush with level/linear surfaces, and vacuums that have flat edges can hit walls/corners but not so much the rounded surfaces.
The future of clean is in crumb-less cookies. Or the digitalized food that I mentioned in another thread. So many brilliant ideas, so little time.

... that we'll buy with bitcoins. Don't laugh, it's coming.

You tricked me with your thread title, as I had no clue what a Roomba was, I was hoping for an indie rpg.

Make them half-square-half-round (like that laser-giuded thingamajig), and have it use balls rather than wheels (working like an old mouse) and be able to move and turn every which way so it can get into all spaces?
