CymTyr: Just had to point this out. Bethesda did publish New Vegas, but it was developed almost entirely by Obsidian.
Roman5: I am aware of this but both games had bug problems It's in all the games I've ever played that use that engine, so I'm guessing that whoever it is that made the engine doesn't care about fixing the problem.

Roman5: So more than 6 months after the release of the game they are STILL releasing patches to fix gamebreaking bugs and problems and they are STILL getting rid of bugs all the way from fallout 3
Delixe: There are no game breaking bugs in New Vegas. People were complaining it was an unplayable mess before it was even released because hurr... it's Bugsidian. Tulivu

So far everyone seems to be talking about massive rpg's. Devs might be a little too ambitious and use patches to compensate but that doesn't necessarily mean the rest are. PSN has been down and I have played a couple of new games start to finish w/ out support. How long do you want to wait for the next Elder/Fallout (if you're a fan)? "Until its done" could be dev hell. Not every game comes out of there like duke nukem.

That's because they're pretty much the only ones where there's a valid excuse for not getting it damn near perfect for release. Everybody else ought to be able to do the testing as there's a much less diverse set of conditions possible.LevityInGaming

Roman5: I am aware of this but both games had bug problems Not sure if they patched that bug yet or not, haven't really had the time to play through it again since wiping the OS due to Windows deciding my restore point would yield only a gray screen on startup.
Note to self: Do not ever install another SP again right after it's launched, ever, Cym. DO NOT DO IT. Better....
Anyway I understand most games in this day and age are more complex, or so they say, however with so many games recycling previously used engines, there's no excuse to not have a superiorly polished game released. Saying that, I did not have problems on my setup with New Vegas, like a lot of people seemed to at launch.
