If your English and Czech are good, consider doing translation work. Contact your embassy for details, they typically have such openings.

Fenixp: Hello, British gentlemen! I would like to ask you a question: What would be a best way for a foreigner to get a part-time job in britain for about two months? Me and my wife want to make some money and get better at language, but I simply have no clue where should I begin. Do you think it would be possible to get a job with my CCNA 1 and hi-school focused on networking? What else would I need?

SimonG: BTW, have you considered Ireland? They also have a lot of IT industries, and they also speak (kind of) english. I was there before the big crash, so things might have changed.

I really don't want to offend any brits here, but I liked Dublin a lot more than London. (Though I've only been in London for short periods).
Most educated Irish people are looking to other countries for work since the crash, not sure about the I.T. industry specifically though..

As for London, no offence taken, I don't like the place either.

serpantino: You could be disappointed. The job market in the UK is terrible at the moment & it's really rare for companies to be hiring that short term. We have large unemployment rates, a lot of businesses falling apart and even rubbish minimum wage jobs are in demand.
Unfortunately this sums up the reality of the matter rather well. Back when I was unemployed I was seeing even unskilled jobs requiring a degree level of education. Why? Because they could.

Yeah our job market is a bit messed up at the minute unfortunately. We do actually have a load of Polish bus drivers round my neck of the woods and have done for a few years now. Initially they could barely speak English, however now though they are doing good.

One thing to watch out for going back to my comment previously, when I mentioned a Visa. You may get a customs officer that may actually stamp your passport with an exit date, either 3 months or 6 months, just be aware if they do. If they do you can sort it out through embassy and border control.

I already do that. The Chinese have a system of hand gestures to communicate prices. And you'd be surprised how well you can do without even being able to recognize the words on menus and such.

It's a lot easier if the writing is in a form that has at least some correlation to a language you know, even if you don't know the words or the grammar.

The worst part is that if you don't work, you don't get healthcare. So there are people who should be retired who are working shitty jobs until they die for employee healthcare... just so they don't die. I know I'm probably oversimplifying it, but essentially it comes down to this: you don't work, you probably don't have healthcare.

Sigh, this is why people like you shouldn't be commenting on American politics, you're showing a lack of understanding of the way our system works. It only takes 41 people in the Senate to block action and 60 in most cases to move something like this forward.

Clearly this is a failing of the Democrats, because it's not like the GOP would abuse it's filibuster power in a case like this.
