Now Paradox can no longer be associated with Gamersgate and the purchases are still connected to steam, what do people think?
paradox = 2 doctors

The beginning of the end for gamersgate?

well good riddance I say! Never loved them, got few games I can live without if they go under. Never liked the service.
If they are going steam only for future games why bother?

Unless they offer discounts on keys people will buy them elsewhere.

Edit: It seems they are doing just that actually :P

Do Paradox games have keys? If so they should offer people the ability to redeem them to have proper back ups for if/when Gamersgate closes down.

If anyone had signed up for the forums before today, check your email account for a free EU3 Steam code from Paradox! I registered last week, but apparently didn't sign up for the newsletter and didn't get one :(

doubt it, I do not think Paradox games are the main income for GG.
Gamers Gate is independence from Paradox for years. Though this will surely hurt their business in long run since it's clear statement by Paradox they prefer Steam as the client. Their upcoming titles set to utilize several Steamworks feature. So there's less reason to buy Paradox games from Gamers Gate.

I just thought that with them losing money with their christmas deals errors, losing their void service and now paradox selling from their own site now and going steam only for future releases, it's a steady decline for gamersgate.

I like the service, but i'm not sure how well they are doing.

I registered over a year ago but no key here either.
Am i the only one who actually likes GG? It's one of my favourites, along with Steam and GOG.

I don't mind GG, myself. They have decent sales on games that often can't be found many other places. Especially wargames like Combat Mission and other games like PE-2 Dive Bomber.

It's one of my favourites too, although I mainly bought Paradox games so who knows how much the new site will effect me buying from it :/

The point of discounts and site? Do Steam get a less cut when they sell keys from their shop and Paradox get more money or something? Just curious, not complaining, 55% off most Paradox games after all :D

Steam keys don't come at a cost for the developers. How they sell/publish it outside of Steam is their own problem. If they can set up a store selling their own keys I imagine they get the whole amount.
