This game looks like a hell of an undertaking for an indie developer.

He puts out playable alpha updates if you want to play it right now:)

Kung fu rabbits!
Well, I played Lugaru (of which Overgrowth is a sequel as far as I know) and wasn't terribly impressed. The controls were clunky, and the level design less than optimal. I don't think I spent more than two hours on it before I gave up and left it for good. Still, the sequel may be better.

Lugaru struck me as one thing: hard, as in hardcore. You had to want to play that twicth based, really hard combat to enjoy it. As much as achievements have challenged me to play on hard again (and I've risen to said challenge is some games known for being hard, though not Demon's Souls) I just wasn't up for it. But I played a couple hours and I thought the core mechanic was very solid (which was the feeling of the fighting). I would expect Overgrowth to be the same.

I suppose that's why I didn't enjoy it much. And I suppose I won't enjoy the sequel either. Oh well, plenty of other games to tackle.
