Hey dudes, there was like this big explosion in space a while back. Like totally gnarly huh?
Anyway, I saw this guy with big hair sajin that it's power level was OVER 9000 and then he waddled back into his little science lab. It was kind of weird man.
And this is how the world will end; not with a bang or a whimper, but with an intense burst of light that flash-fries the entire planet before we even have a chance to acknowledge it.

Well, I suppose it might be a bit older if we assume that along the way the light passed through a medium that dropped the speed of the light below c for a little while. Movement of the earth away or towards the source of the blast could also play into the exact timing. Either that or have you found a way to travel faster than c that you'd like to share with us?
