Reported by Gamasutra, not much to add yet: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/195475/Original_authors_has_acquired_Outcast_IntellectualProperty.php

I'm guessing many people here will be glad.
Have the game, haven't played it yet, but I reckon it's a good thing. Outcast 2 on the way? :D
I'm hoping for a remake with no stupid voxel engine this time.
Fantastic news! It made my day :)

Screw remakes. New stuff! New tuff! New stuff!
Interesting, will this change anything about the status of Outcast sold here? As in, will they also get the cut from sales now?

Depending on how the contract was structured, yes. Potentially they are the only ones to see a cut now.

I always thought of him as Colonel O'Neil with a buzz-cut

Nah, I prefer a remake first since I still haven't finished the original due to the annoying engine (I want my native resolution and possibility to take advantage of a GPU so it doesn't lag). If they then decide to make a new game in the established universe I would like that too.

Crosmando: The GOG gamecard now lists Appeal S.A. as publisher.
That was fast.

Does it? I've still got Atari, with Appeal as dev, no matter how hard I crtl+f5.
Hopefully that is the case, the more self-published classics here the better.
Nice news. Hope they work out a deal with GOG to keep the game on here, and eventually do something with the IP.
