Yeah, there are a few. I just named Star Wars, CoR & James Bond as they're the ones that came to mind as examples of how movie licensing can turn out well.

There are a great many licenced games that are good but yes the vast majority are bad. The trouble with the Matrix games is that the bar was set so high by the movies and Infogrammes put such pressure on Shiny that the games were absolute toilet. It would not have been so bad if Shiny had been allowed to patch Enter The Matrix as fundamentally it was a good game. The trouble is Infogrammes flat out told them no and to move on to Path of Neo. That is Infogrammes in a nutshell. Get the game to retail then move on.
Infogrammes follow the Trip Hawkins business model. A man I wish to meet in my life if only so I can stab him in the eyes with a pencil.

Vivendi is another one with the same practices. I wonder what support Blizzard's upcoming games will receive now they're just a Vivendi trading name?

They wouldn't try for just the one game, but rather approach the company who hold the IP. In this case it's Atari. Given the number of IP Atari hold, you can bet that GOG have at least tried.

GOG staff won't/can't comment on ongoing business negotiations. period. Shouting won't help, quite the opposite.

I'm all for it, though I bought an eBay copy a long time ago.
Especially since I just can't seem to rip that second CD no matter what, which effectively puts a damper in being able to play the game on my TC1100 unless I go out and buy a USB DVD drive to keep tethered to the thing while I'm playing.
