I know we have a lot of threads about the wiki already, but screw that, I want to tell my story!

I recently got Thief III to finally, finally finish the whole game. (It's been some time since I actually played a GOG, tbh). As that game is well received and rather old, I thought "Hey, there must me some "essential" mods for this game. My first glance at the forums wasn't really helpful. Quite a mess and no sticky for Thief III.

Then I turned to the wiki page of said game and *tada*, exactly what I was looking for. It took me about twelve clicks in total to get the mods installed and running. Awesome, just awesome.

That is exactly what we had in mind when we started on that wiki a year ago. A big thank you again to all those who contributed and made it grow. (Especially to thejoe who not only did the Thief III page by himself, but has been vocal about the wiki) Obviously we are not done with every game, so please, take a look at what you can do.

I'm currently sneaking through the city again and I can't tell you how good it looks and feels.

You only have to play a GOG once in a while to remember how awesome this community is!
And that is one of the main reasons I prefer GOG over Steam - the fricking community.

Yes, there are plenty of good people here willing to lend a hand to others. It is very refreshing compared to some other forums I usually visit.
ok wow you just made my weekend! and i think im going to beef up the monolith titles wiki pages... i only went here a few months after it was originally made... wow has it grown!

this is really nice!
This is a great opportunity to post a question about the wiki without coming off too much as an idiot...

I signed up for the wiki with the intention of putting up all of my compiled info on Mac compatibility, F/OSS ports, and WINE compatibility, but for the life of me I don't know how to access (a) the full list of games on GOG on the GOGwiki and (b) I don't know how to actually create a wiki page. Help please!
That's a great thing about the wiki for sure. *top*

I either search for the site I want to create and then use the "create this site option" or simply put it in the URL and then use the edit function

eg:

http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Mac_compatibility_guide

But those are noob approaches, somebody might know a better way.

And I think we have all GOGs on the wiki.

EDIT:

By the way, who has the rights to change the front page? (Apart from Ubivis, as he is probably knee deep in shit right now and has something better to do ;-P)

rampancy: the full list of games on GOG on the GOGwiki
On the left-hand side of the wiki there are links to categories. Click on the "Games" category to get a list of all games.

Search for title of the page you want to create. If it already exists then you can open it and edit it. If you didn't find a page with that title and still want to create one then look on the search results page for the text Create the page "Some Title" on this wiki! and click on the red title.

Write me a PM here on GOG about your idea for the front page, and I will see if I can squeze it in :)
there was a gogwiki? Damn...

Thanks for posting that Simon.

I'm actually kicking myself right now for not thinking about this sooner, but the utter broken-ness of the GOGmix feature (as of now I *still* can't properly edit my GOGmix without it getting wiped) means that I'll have to move all of my info wholesale to the gogwiki.
