Star Wars is just presented as black and white. (Well, mostly white since there was only one black guy in the original films, Lando)

but

As a Baker, I'm not seeing any problem here.
sith corrupts soul and body, thus in long term they look like shit, before the final fight in episode three you can see anakin's eyes changing.
I think these types of games should be pulled from shelves and banned. Burned and crushed, torn, twisted, tattered. Let them know what it feels like. And then, when they are at their ugliest moment, take videos of them and post them on Youtube. Let the world see the true face of evil then.
Oh wait.
;-P

I actually liked that. The scars of Sidious was also very fitting especially compared to the lady make up crap they used in the old movies.
You mean this?

Yay, Voltaire! I met him last year, really nice guy. I have pretty much all of his albums except BiTrektual.
"Hey man, you look like sith"
Just for that one pun.
You must play SWTOR to see who is really ugly. I saw too many FAT Jedi with woman costume. They look really awful, Republic side has worst armor and items ever i've seen(except commando class). When you play in Empire side and when you see these armors and weapons, you will say "hell yea!".

Also who doesn't want scary face to look badass ? Sith are really badass with scars, corruptions, costumes and power.

(J)edi - (J)ustin Bieber, is it coincidence ?

Nirth: Easiest way to explain it is that the dark side of the force tampers with forces that isn't natural so you pay the price when using it, it disfigures your body which I take it as a symbol of how your soul looks like due to the evil you spread or something like that. :P

Elmofongo: I don't know, why are Jedi such morally absolute prudes :P

Jedi says there is no passion there is serenity yet aren't they passionate about the Light Side of the Force.

And isn't denouncing love a fear in itself?
avatar
Nirth: They just have different philosophy about life. While they're passionate about their own beliefs it's not what they mean with "there's no passion", it's about being unselfish and helping the weak. They want harmony and balance, therefore restoring the weak to 'middle class' status and killing Siths because they reached way above 'upper class'. As for the absolute part is to avoid distracting influence, that goes for both the light and the dark side

I forgot about the love part. In a way you're right but I think it's to avoid distraction, Yoda mentions in the older movies that a truly great Jedi has complete focus on his current mission, you won't have that with love in your life or any high emotions like passion, anger, excitement.
Love can easily tempt someone to the dark side.

tinyE: I know this has nothing to do with GOG but it is kind of game related and I respect the opinions of you folks so here it is. I'm playing KOTOR 2 and I can't get over that be it in a movie or a game the Sith are all so ugly and or horribly disfigured. It's almost like they can't become Sith until they've had multiple limbs hacked off, eyes removed, been dumped in lava, sprayed with acid, dried up, skinned, deep fried, minced, etc etc etc. I understand that as tradition goes the bad guy needs to be ugly but in all the movies and games from this saga they couldn't give us ONE SITH that had all of his face or skin!? It makes me wonder if Lucas Arts (Disney) is just out to convince the world that good looking people are good and ugly people (worse yet disfigured people) are the root of all evil.
Well, if you live the life of a Sith, it is only a matter of time before you get a limb hacked off, an eye removed, sprayed with acid, dumped in lava, have monkey poop thrown at you etc. It's not like these guys make sandwiches for a living or stay home all day. They are around people who constantly want to kill them. Jedi and other Sith. :)

Stevedog13: Simple. Ugly people have a hard time trying to get laid. It first makes them bitter towards the opposite sex, then to the good looking people and eventually to everything capable of procreation. Normally these type of people are kept in check by their own awkward insecurities, but give them access to a power like the Force and -BAM... instant Sith.
And bitterness leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to the dark side... :)

Weren't it always external forces warping the Siths bodies? Due to combat/accidents?

As far as I remember Palpatine was a normal old guy until his confrontation with Mace Windu and Yoda where he got his force lightning reflected back to him.

Anakin had his little accident with Obiwan and the vulcanic Planet.

And for example Darth Maul didn't look that bad - neither did Jerec from the Dark Forces game and there are a lot of other examples in the books (Jorus C'baoth, Jacen Solo, etc.).

I think the Sith in KotOR & KotOR2 especially were kind of special cases though. In the first game the Star Forge was effecting them, & in the second you have zombie lord & the walking black hole basicaly sucking the life out of anything so they all looked terrible. With the films they gained their looks after taking damage, other parts of the exteded universe it varied. Even the "True Sith" looked pretty ugly, the original red aliens. I wish they'd made more of a return with TOR, especilly those that weren't interbred with dark jedi. An invading Sith army that had no connection to the force would have been interesting.

For all we know that was how Sidious truly looked, Palpatine was just a mask before he became a Sith. That's my view on the matter at least.
Voltaire is awesome.

Anyway - There is only love or fear. The dark side is obviously drenched in fear, but I don't think the Jedi are drenched in love. In fact, not having "distractions" from the Jedi way can itself be seen as a fear of love or attachments, afraid of how they might "mess you up"...

I don't think love is against the rules but they live like monks, you're not supposed to be in romantic or sexual relationships as they take away focus of Jedi life.

Note: I haven't played very far in TOR, and even shorter on the Sith side, so there are lots of things I haven't seen yet (though I'm no stranger to spoilers). But are there even any true Sith left at that point? Haven't they all been assimilated and interbred? ("Even more of a return" suggests there is a return in some form of non-interbred true Sith, care to point me to info about that?)

Besides, unless I remember wrongly, the true Sith were quite force sensitive even before they met with the dark jedi (which was the reason the dark Jedi took an interest in them), so "a Sith army that have no connection to the force" wouldn't really be possible anyway.
