I remember hearing about this mod ages ago. It's nice to see that the team is still working on it, I thought that it was abandoned. I will definitely check it out when the final version is released.

I knew those guys from the Doom 3 modding community, as well as from TTLG. The founders of the mod are well-known figures there, and they seem to know their Doom 3 stuff pretty well too. Great guys.

No, it doesn't compensate. But then, you can see how far the modders gone deep working on it.
Another great effort was a Thief 2 mod, T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age. And some people were remaking the Thief 2 Gold project, but maybe it is on hold now.
