pkt-zer0: Necromancy, whoo!
So, today (well, technically yesterday, it's 2:30 AM now) is the day I finally got an X52 Pro. Installed I-War 2 to test it out, natch. So far, it seems quite nice. Setting up the controls took a couple hours, but now it's quite amazing that I have no need for a keyboard except possibly for putting in the names of savegames. If anyone's interested, I could post the profile and INI files. I don't think it's quite perfect, though, so if anyone's got alternative button layouts, do share.
Also, Karlallen, care to comment on the stick's longevity after all this time?

I'd be interested in the profile because I'm lazy. I haven't used the x52 for awhile now as I'm on a smaller desk at the moment and they take up a lot of space. I'll try it soon (this weekend probably) and let you know as it was getting a lot of use previously.

Sielle: I've been tempted by an x52 Pro soooooo many times. I'm thinking that the release of Mech Warrior 4 is finally going to push me over the edge... assuming someone doesn't manage to get the Steel Battalion controller working in Vista/Win7. (Now that's a dream mech controller)

I hear ya! I still eye those things on Ebay. One day I'll pull the trigger on it. I hate that I missed out on those games.

Aliasalpha: Don't see why not, its an MS product so the drivers should come with windows.

They do drop support over time. I have an old MS Sidewinder Precision Wheel, the WinXP drivers put the pedals on a shared axis, so I had to get and install the Win98 drivers.

Alright, here are the configs. Note that the Saitek profile (...a .pr0 file, hideous pun by Saitek) is for the new-ish version SST released semi-recently. You might need to download that from their site.

Just be careful, so far they only work on Windows XP, but someone did build a profile for MW4... oh how I dream about using that controller on Win7 for games. I'd even buy one brand new for it.
I meant Steel Battalion with the monster controller. If we could have that on the xbox, I'd like another one to go with the upcoming Mechwarrior game.

Thanks. I'll check them out. I've noticed that the Saitek website has a profile for IW2 also.

Can't seem to get the game working well enough in Windows 7.
The graphics flicker and then seem to fail to load again at times. It's unplayable like that.
I did update my graphics drivers however I haven't found a solution to this.
Any ideas?

If it's the same file I'm thinking of, it's just a list of actions, no actual control setup, so might as well skip it.

Try compatibility modes, or google for "running I-War 2 in Vista" or somesuch. There are a couple things you could try there, not sure how well the solutions will actually work. I'm still on XP (for compatibility issues like this one).
Drop the resolution if above 1024x768. Seems like I read somewhere not to run it higher than that.
