The countdown card on the main page is referring to, what I'm assuming to be, the name of another developer that has come on board. The only problem is, I don't recognize the name Orion. When I first saw the page, I thought it said "Origin" and I was all like "holyshitthereisagodmoreCrusaderplx" and then I realized it was Orion, not Origin. So what games did these Orion fellows make that are worth mentioning? Unless of course, the reason that I don't recognize the name is because Orion isn't actually the name of the new developer, which means that I can go on hoping that the surprise really is Origin and GOG just misspelled it to throw people off until release day. Of course, the downside is that the Crusader games were also part of Electronic Arts and getting those bastards in here would be nothing of short of a miracle. Still, a man can dream can't he? :)

Hmm, interesting. Master of Orion was made by Microprose and Outcast was made by Infograms, which appears to be one of the names that Microprose has operated under in years past. So those two games are the actual release and Microprose/Infrogames is the actual developer. Very interesting indeed. Time to go research the company itself and see what other worthwhile games they made that might be coming here soon.

The former developer isn't really the important part, the publisher and current rights holder is. That would be Atari.

Well then, that just adds a whole new layer to the mystery and anticipation now doesn't it? Atari has been responsible for some damn fine games over the years, so this could mean alot of things. Wasn't Psygnosis a division of Atari? Because that alone would kick ass for the Destruction Derby games that I remember so well,

Infogrames IS Atari. Atari is just the stolen, I mean bought, name that Infogrames thought it would be cool to take for their use.
Microprose was a publisher, like Atari is now. They used to make games on their own under the Microprose Labs name (MPS), but the rights remained with Microprose.
Atari bought most of Microprose rights.
A couple of years ago Sid Meier bought back certain rights, Silent Service, F-15 Strike Eagle, and more.
Sid Meier used to BE Microprose till he found himself others to have technically take control of "his" company, and he left Microprose to found Firaxis.

Unfortunately, Psygnosis was bought by Sony.

Agony....what a game!

Not gonna happen. Firaxis owns those rights.

Think the brand is still active too so we will never see it.
