Well, since it takes place several million years in the past... :-) And you can tame/befriend the local apemen, and equip them with assault rifles, if you want to.

Yay! Well yeah, I am, kind of. It's really one of the most unique RTS games I have ever played, and it's got lots of charm. While I wouldn't exactly put it into my top 3 list, it would certainly make my top 10 (depending on my mood :D,) and it's really a shame that it's not better known - because the game is really fantastic and unique.

Just a question though. I hate traditional RTS games a lot, but I really love squad based limited character games like Commandos and similar titles. This sounds like kind of a mix of both, so I was wondering if it skewed more towards one style or the other.

I'm afraid it's leaning more towards traditional RTS with it's gameplay. Well... Not really, but it's got more similarities with that than with commandos.

no, definitely not save/load orgy. BUT, with several trained and well equiped soldiers you can be more destructive, then with a tank platoon. So... :)

OT: Also, do you know Faces of war/Men of war? It sounds like something for you and its better than commandos in my opinion.

I am truly sorry. I am again in my "i hate this game so much" phase with last soviet mission.

Again ON topic - What i really love about OW are those choices and consequences. Like when you are choosing to kill POW or let him go. Or if you try trick your enemy instead of keeping the deal. You gain something and few missions later it come back and bite you in the ass.

You have even choice, if you really want to enter the EON and travel back in time! You can back off in your first mission and get proper outro!
