timppu: One question though that I always wondered: where does the name of the game come from? Original War? By the title, I was expecting some kind of caveman clubfest.
You don't necessarily have to play it, but it is kind of preferred :-P And now that I think about it, yeah, given the setting, it would kind of make sense. Kind of.
Ok, you got me interested. Wishlisted for better awareness.

Awareness is incredibly important. I am not writing this just to bump the thread. Really, I'm not!
I actually have never given this game a second glance. Here I thought you were writing about an indie game or the like. I'll have to save this one for later. Thank you!
After that wall of text, I have it wishlisted for now. :)

El_Caz: Notice my avatar? haven't changed it since joining and Original War was my first game bought here. It took my GOG cherry!
You had a GOG cherry? Where can I get one?
Does this game have a map editor? I would love to get my hands on one if they do.

Yes, I'm just not sure if it's 3rd party or included in the default installation. I think it is in the default installation thou - I'll take a look for you when I get home.

Well yeah where else would I have heard about this game? Even though the description hints it is hard to play, the concept is original to say the least.

Actually, it's not. Not at all. It's got a weird difficulty curve in campaign (nothing too frustrating, you just won't win the entire campaign on your firs try,) and the UI is pretty easy to navigate and simple to use.

Ah even so. Well than it should be one of those "grasp the new concept and use it" kind of games. Not bad at all. I might try it one day. :) Thanks for your info.
Slow paced, huh? I might get it then. Most RTS are a little too hectic for me but I still like some of them but can't get completely into it. I did finally beat Total Annihilation but it took a while and I've been messing with Company of Heroes and various Total War games a bit. Oh and also played Earth 2150 and Ground Control 2 a bit.

Yep, the editor is right in the installation, thou I have no idea how good it is.
