I assume the games won't be returning to GOG because ... it's really REALLY difficult to do that. But we'll see.

EDIT: I did write the sentence above in a somewhat bitter mood; I do honestly hope we see the games come back.

As I said on the other thread; epic fail. They couldn't even get Windows 8 compatibility for Fallout Tactics. What were they doing for 6 months?
Damn. Was just reading up on a convo earlier today that they were on Steam, but you couldn't buy them. And now you can.

I really really hope we'll get them back here.

Steam Cloud and higher resolutions, I guess. Or just legal stuff.
Can't wait to see little lamplight in Fallout: Special Bethesda Edition.

I'm low on sleep and for a few seconds my brain could only parse the "Original Fallout games are back on" part. Sigh.
Wow seems a lot of work just to stencil Bethesda over Interplay.

Allow me to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to write to Bethesda and let them know that we want to see the Fallout games back on GOG as well (not to mention their other games like Morrowind):

I don't want anything to do with them, if I do "write", it'll be in a threatening tone to ask them to return Fallout to us.
Every person in the world could write them and they'd probably still refuse.

Most likely true....but we won't know for certain unless we actually try. ;)

If every person who writes them is in a hostile angry rage filled with hate and outrage and that's the only feedback they ever receive, I'd suspect they would not bother considering distribution on GOG. I imagine they (or any company) considering distributing a game on any particular distribution platform is going to want to not only see that there is a market for their game on that platform but also have a two-way positive relationship with the fans of their games. If all a company hears is hatred anger and vitriol, that simply much more likely to keep them away. I can't see how it could make a company super eager to prioritize it anyway.

Someone once said something to the effect ... "you get further with honey than you do with guns..." It's true more often than not and I think situations like this are examples where it is more likely the case.

If however they hear positive encouraging messages from fans of the games politely telling them how much they'd like the games to be on GOG.com, and perhaps even some of their other games, then they receive a positive message and experience, and there is power in numbers. If enough influx of positive requests of such nature happens, a company is much more likely to look at it as something to contemplate and possibly consider in the future than receiving a tonne of hatemail.

I could of course be completely wrong though. I have more positive experiences getting what I want from people, companies, etc. via civil communication than via anger and rage and emotionally charged mud flinging though so I probably don't have the best data on what is possible to achieve by yelling and screaming at companies and seeing if they respond by doing what I'd like them to do either. I could have been doing it wrong all along!

;o)

We must not be playing the same games. ;)

Otherwise, agreed. Hopefully GOG Galaxy is also a success and gives GOG a little more clout with the larger publishers. It seems to me that GOG is doing some pretty interesting things lately to position itself in the market and grow and I'm excited to see how it all pans out.
The comments on Beth's Facebook page are priceless. Show how much their core fans care about the Classics and where their audience is right now (consoles, teenagers, even some pirates...)
