I can't download Dead Space 3 from it.
Every time the download reach 75%, it resets to 50%.
What a horrible client.
This is the first time I'm using it, and I can't download a single game.
i think you should try to go to their support and ask for other means of downloading...

Ooh I hadn't noticed that Dead Space 3 was one of the non-Steam ones, Politics!
It has happened to me a couple of times with Steam. I accessed only Mass Effect 3 via Origin, so I don't have enough experience to judge. It's Steam without achiemevents, imo, and it worked fine; except EA servers for multi.

Heh. It's hard to take that guy seriously with all the smilies on his error report. :)

I'm not downloading anything Origin (or origin itself) until after the bundle is over, but noticing that this guy posted his error on 2011-12, makes me wonder if I'll bump on the same issues no matter when I try it.
A friend tried too yesterday, it's due to the HIB Origin Bundle so people are probably overusing the servers. In a day or two it will work fine.

I installed Origin myself yesterday and I was pleasently surprised of how clean and modern it looks and not to mention it updates everything much faster than Steam, they have come a long way before they released their client. Unfortunately I didn't try to download any games as I already have games I want to finish first and I lack the space too.

It also supports optional automatic update for both the client and games! Score for Origin on that part. :)

From that site:
""SOLUTION: Close any antivirus or/and firewall applications. I had the same problem and closing down Avast! antivirus and Zone Alarm firewall resolved it. Happy hunting! ""
They updated Origin to be faster, in the olden times it was even crappier.
I'm starting to hate Origin. Do you know that in order to change the email address associated with your Origin account, you have to call EA...

It told me yesterday that all of their game activations aren't working and they're working on it. Funny how hb sort of showed the opposite effect that they were going for.

Ouch. Is that a new thing? I've changed my Origin email address in the past and didn't have to jump through any hoops.

Still pretty weak compared to Kotickvisionizzard and Microsoft.
