Pheace: While that may be true, the DLC add a lot to it, not to mention, if you haven't played the Citadel DLC yet you've missed the best part of ME3.
avatar
Fenixp: Nonetheless, if you've never played ME3 before, I feel it's not the best investment to get DLCs without even knowing whether you're going to like the game. I feel it's a good incentive for more playtroughs tho...
Disagree there. If you've played 1 and 2 you should know by now whether you want to play 3. If you haven't played 1 and 2, you're doing it completely wrong imo :)

Don't install it. I just tried and it's about the buggiest thing I've ever tried. The support staff was quick(er) to respond but they weren't really helpful either.

Pheace: With ME3 consider there's a slew of DLC you'd want to have, which are no doubt not included.
avatar
Fenixp: I've actually played ME3 without purchasing a single piece of DLC. Troughout the entire game, I have never felt like anything was missing.
I usually defend this stuff the same as you are here, but ME3 is a special case. If you had the Prothean companion day one DLC you would realize how integral it is to the game. It's a big deal.

Just sharing my impressions. I hated the day one DLC idea as much as anyone, but troughout the entire playtrough, I have not seen anything that would as much as hint at something missing. ME3 felt like a complete experience and if I didn't know that there is such a companion, I would not miss anything.

I hear you. I guess my impression from the opposite end of it is that I can't imagine playing that game without him and his missions in it. The other DLC? Pretty disposable, but him? Not so much.

Maybe they miraculously accomplished both.

I feel the same way. I played the Wii U one with the companion and when I played the PC one without him, I just felt something was really missing in the experience.

This is a recent example of an unsolved problem:

Some games won't activate in Origin

Some players have reported that after recently downloading and installing specifically Battlefield 3, the first Crysis, Mass Effect 3, or Plants vs. Zombies, that their game does not activate in their Origin My Games list.

We're investigating this issue and are working to get you back into your game as quickly as possible.

Thanks for your patience and stay tuned for updates.

Unfortunately, I have first hand experience with that particular issue. That was the proverbial last straw before I simply removed Origin completely.
can anyone else connect to Origin currently through the client?

ive been trying 2 days now with only this wonderful message :
"Could not connect to the server, please try again in a few minutes."

the site / browser log in work, just not the actual client.
did all the little 'fixes' that dont work and gone through 3 advisers / online helpers to no avail.

After reading the last few posts in this thread, I just tried firing it up on my rig as well and had no issues.

eldav80: Should i install Origin or not ? pros and cons.
There are only two games i want from there.
I was thinking is it safe to use, meaning does it store card numbers or not, and most of all does it spy on you ?
It's safe now. I stayed away from it for years, for fear of spyware and whatnot. I finally broke down this past year and installed it. It's not as full featured as steam, which is hands down my preferred gaming client. But, my daughter plays alot of EA games, so I figured I best get a grip on using origin. Origin does have one advantage over steam, and it's a big one. They have 24hr online chat support. That doesn't sound like much, but I've run into a few problems with older games activating in origin. I entered chat, and within 5 mins or so, they had fixed all my problems. Had this happen a few times, mainly with games I'd purchased on DVD, but wanted to have put into my daughters Origin account. They happily fixed things up for me. They've also been giving games away every now and then, and the sales are getting much better than they used to be. They are nowhere near as good as steam's holiday/summer sales. But, they are at least trying. The choice is yours about whether to install origin or not. But, I'm picky about things slowing down my PC, and running in the background, and such. I can tell you, origin shouldn't cause you any issues. I hope that helps.
