Yes you should install Origin, and while you are at it you should burn holy books, go around hitting old people sell your soul to satan praise steam for saving pc gaming intentionally run over peoples pets and smuggle explosives onto a plane. And just for good measure then buy an Xbox One and PS4 and never play PC games again.

Short version: No don't do it.
As long as it's not Origen, you should be fine.
There's a reason why I still have an unused copy of Sims 3 in my collection. Origin required on install. No install was completed. Game is waiting for some future-hack that will allow me to bypass the Origin install DRM. It's another reason why gog is becoming the only source left for players like me to get PC games.
origin is fine , i like the client its much colorful than steam but its sluggish at times and downloading games is a pain especially on slow internet connections. i was not happy with the way the game backs up installs its terrible.
I had to manually zip the da2 and me3 folders and keep em separately.

You have to copy it again and install the game from the client which will check and download missing and corrupt files.
The only problem was it thought 5gb of mass effect 3 was corrupt , i gave up after that

The dlc were a hassle to get before as well but they have now added the dlc directly to origin . they need more classics and community features to compete with steam

Why? :P

Seriously, most people complaining about Origin are ones who never tried it.

I'm pretty sure that no more than Steam does.

If you're willing to use Steam I don't see any reason why you shouldn't also be willing to use Origin.

So is Steam for me. Frankly to me the Origin client itself seems to be a more solid, stable and generally better executed piece of Software than the Steam client. And that despite having far more eye candy. I've had a problem or two but not more than with Steam. And Origin support was actually more helpful and friendlier than Steam's.

5/7. I've still got work to do.
Surprisingly, I've had no issues with Origin. The storefront is in need of some work, but that's no big deal. The client itself works great for me and has overall been a smoother experience than Steam. Contrary to popular belief, Origin does not require blood sacrifices, nor does it eat babies. Much of the FUD is totally due to the hatred for EA, IMO, and totally over-exaggerated.

I'm totally for blood sacrifices and eating babies, if it brings the old Origin back. You know: Wing Commander, Ultima, System Shock, Bioforge... "We create worlds"
Though I only got Origin for my command and conquer games, when I was playing them a year or so back the stupid thing was crashing on me a lot of the time. Even when I wasn't on it, used to have to re-sign in cause it lost connection or something. Which was weird since steam has never lost connection, well at the same time at least. Though it seem to run find when I was playing BF3 lately.

On the same hold I keep it just for the games, you basically need all of them anyway.
If you use Steam I don't see why you wouldn't use Origin. Basically the same exact thing, and they have made the client pretty smooth to use at this point.

Uplay is the shitty one, mainly because of its bad patching system and lack off features.
I've never bought anything from there - I've only ever used it for retail games, bundle keys and most recently the "on the house" freebies. In fact, I don't even think I have all that many "Origin-only" games - Syndicate and couple of Need for Speed games if I recall. I just redeemed the rest of my retail collection for the sheer hell of it.

In terms of functionality, I can't really claim that it's any worse or better than Steam. It works well enough, and only really lacks Steam's backup functionality.

Im still undecided, there is only one game i want before all the others ones and that is mass effect 3, is it worth it ?

Absolutely. While the ending got extremely conflicted reception, 95% of that game is excellent. Well, 90 actually - the beginning is absolute rubbish. Other than that, the game wraps up Mass Effect trilogy beautifully, and shows you the impact of every big decision you've made up to that point. It's quite impressive really.

Also, everything you bought anywhere else (with a key) can be activated on Origin, and they randomly give away free stuff.

Also, all their CnC games, including the old ones, have cloud saves. ... Oh right, I'm probably the only one around who loves cloud saves.

I suppose it will spy the crap out of you, but so does steam. In fact, talking about the client itself, I prefer Origin. More simple, faster and more stable. At least, in my experience.
So, even if I have never bought anything from them (OB aside), I do not think it is any worse than steam.
Ugh. I had to install that shit (even before Steam) because it was the only way I could play ME3. And I really really really wanted to play it! Baaaadly!

So I installed it. It was even during the time where the Germans were making a bit of a fuss because it was supposedly spying our computers xD Even tried to use Sandbox :D
