Hello,

I've received this morning five Order summaries for five orders I've never done nor paid.
All the games have been added to my account without any being paid.

I just want to know if I'm in an isolated case or not and if I have had my account hacked.
I've changed my password in any case.

I've also contacted the GOG support to have them cancel the orders impacted.
The total amount was between 200 and 300 $

Let me see if I got this straight.

Someone used your account and their CC/Paypal to buy you a lot of games.

I'd suggest looking into your close family, since I do find it quite weird that someone would try to gain access to your account to buy games for you. Unless you used a public/shared computer and didn't sign out of course.

I don't know if my account was used, all I know is that I've received mails of order confirmation (with order numbers) for different games or packages this morning. I've no payment done on paypal and I can't check my bank account at the moment (I'm at work with restricted accesses to some https sites).
I'm at seven orders now and it seems to go on while I'm writing this email.

I live alone, nobody has a physical access to my computer. Would be a gift ? Then why would have received an order summary for a gift ?
I never log into secured sites in public computers and public network. (I even never use any public computer).
Something is weird on GOG order side, I think.
That's why I wanted to know if I'm isolated or not.

Order confirmation means your account is used. So that leaves the question of "What payment method was used". GOG doesn't store any payment methods, so whoever buys the games has to enter a payment method. I guess it could be possible that a co-worker is trying to buy the games for his/her account, but due to a shared IP address they are sent to you instead, but I also find it highly unlikely.

You have notified GOG, and they should be able to sort it out. Not sure if you can give your bank a quick call to see if there have been any charges or not, but in case it's neither your Paypal nor your CC that's being used, I'd suggest ignoring it for now.

Thanks to the quickly reacting GOG support, the issue is going to be solved.
It seems there has been a mismatch at some point in the order process of some people in a different country of mine that I'm not related to.
Since the orders are identified, those will be canceled and the buyer refunded.

As far as I can tell on such short notice, Archimbaud's account is the only one affected. We will investigate this further on our end, and have asked our payment service provider to perform an investigation of their own.

There have been cases when friends, family members, co-workers or other relatives used someone else's account by mistake, but it doesn't like like it's the case here.

Just to clarify (and not spread panic;)) - it doesn't look like purchases are being associated to the wrong accounts at random, so I don't think it's a mismatch, as Archimbaud put it.

@Archimbaud - please check your e-mail as soon as possible, as I need your help in investigating this.
