Somesay it is boring after half-an-hour, because you are doing the same things over and over again?

What do you think? Is it really that boring or worth to get?
I got bored after half an hour with 1.

I had a lot more fun with 2.

1 hour? :)
WIth Just Cause 2 being better in every aspect, there really is no point in playing Just Cause 1 anymore.

But JC2 is a good game on its own?

I personally prefer the first one but they're both very good (and pointless) fun.
I found the first a bit boring. The second one was a massive improvement and more fun.

I got bored after about 2 hours or so. I've never played the second, but I hear it's much better. If you like the second one, then play the first too, just for completion's sake :) OR if you've played neither, than start with the first, if it's not that good, then you'll appreciate the second that much more :P

Certainly. I never even finished the story. It's bad action movie bad. But the game itself is phenomenal, and there's a lot of fun to be had with just screwing around. I've only played JC2 and I had a marvelous time with it. It's one of those game's I feel a duty to fully recommend to anyone asking about it.

Just get JC2, it's wonderful.
Just Cause does get boring after a while (~2h in for me). The main issue though was that the PC version was a horrible port. Had the port been better, I would most likely have enjoyed it more.
I've not played the first game (mainly because it has SecuROM as it's DRM, even on Steam).

However, I have played Just Cause 2 (got it a couple of months ago on a fantastic Steam weekend sale and it uses Steamworks only) and it is amazing. Loved every minute of it.
Steam says I've put 31 hours into Just Cause 2. That includes a playthrough, some random fucking about, a friend playing for several hours and quite a lot of boredom. Blowing things up for no reason is satisfying in short bursts but gets repetitive very quickly - and let's face it, all you ever do in JC2 is blow things up. The world is massive, quite pretty, but uninspired; the Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row sandboxes are more varied and alive. The story is ludicrously bad, not that you're supposed to care.

The game has been praised by many, but not me. Buy it if you want to, but do yourself a favour and avoid the DLC. You won't be missing anything.

EDIT: By the way, I'm not trying to say the game is shit. It most certainly isn't. I'm just not sure whether I'd call it good either.

I think the big draw is supposed to be all the stunts you can do. Stuff like driving a firetruck into a fuel tank, parachute out at the last minute before the explosion, grapple onto a motorcycle to make your getaway, and attach your motorcycle to an airplane.

Except I'm not skilled enough to pull off all those stunts, so I kind of miss out on a chunk of the experience.
Ian is the best player in this game.... he should drop his thoughts here..... :P
